My wife and I stayed in the new Bishops Suite last night � what a room it was wonderful the bathroom is out of the world � two rolltop bath’s the shower was Devine so many little touches down to the auto lights that come on when you walk towards the bathroom
Everyhing about this room is 5* plus the food in the hotel is great we had an evening meal and breakfast both lovely the staff are friendly and attentive we will bd back ���
Partner surprised me with an overnight stay with breakfast and champagne dinner. Fantastic place all round from the lovely staff to the top quality food. My room was the best in the Manor and it was "Superb" Thankyou and we will be back
Upon arrive we were met by a beautiful hotel hidden from the main road. Paul immediately welcomed us and immediately we felt at home. All the staff were very accommodating and the food was exquisite. I’d thoroughly recommend going here, we arrived Friday last week and left Monday and to be honest it was too short.
Very close to town, short walk to lots of restaurants. Down the road from a Shell garage which is good and the shop is fairly big if you need anything. Hotel was great but we did have to get rid of 7 spiders in the room. There are also a lot of spiders dotted around the hotel and walls but it is in the countryside so it is to be expected. The bed was 2 singles put together but very comfortable and very spacious. Staff are lovely. No air con in our room but there is a fan in the wardrobe and the windows open very wide and it cools the room down in no time! There was some mould spots in our shower but aside from that the bathroom was great and very spacious. The room came with a bottle of water, homemade shortbread, tea and coffee ( and cafeteria coffee ) . Lots of parking, safe and off the road, lovely grounds very beautiful. Overall loved our stay.
Well this is an awesome hotel outside and whilst the main rooms look somewhat dated and out of keeping for the wonderful exterior. What made this stay were the wonderful staff both in the restaurants at dinner, lunch and breakfast and at reception - felt like they were genuinely friendly - what a nice change. Excellent food and rooms whilst a little lacking of repair were good - clean and modern bathroom and comfy bed. Pillows could be better.

Spent the weekend of 26.08.23 at the Alverton for our wedding anniversary after getting married there in 2017! We did the summer escape deal and it was worth every penny! We booked a junior suite and were allocated the captain suite which was absolutely gorgeous the bath was heavenly! We had a lovely surprise of a bottle of bubbly and some Cornish goodies left in our room. Food was also excellent. Looking forward to coming back to stay in a few weeks for another family wedding
Absolutely Stunning. Whole venue is full of character and very clean. Maintenance standards in public areas very good. I haven't noticed anything amiss, and that is good going in a place this size. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Room is beautiful, with comfy bed, great shower and top quality beverages. We attended a Taste of Truro tasting event. The food was out of this world and accompanied by a flight of wines. Not a cheap venue, but an a good quality venue. Go on, treat yourselves! We did.......
My favorite spot to stay when traveling for work, when I need a quiet, beautiful space to decompress. Some rooms are nicer than other, food is always great.

Our 2nd stay in the junior suite with 2 baths room 31. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately our sleep was disturbed on several occasions as access for the hotels deliveries was directly under our window. Lorries and cars unloading supplies woke us up from 7am on all mornings and on Sunday morning at 3am and 7am staff were clearing away something and were talking loudly and throwing things in their vehicle. It was very loud. The hotel must be aware there are people trying to relax and should pick a different time. Suppliers arrive early in the morning with radios on very loud as well, slamming doors and unloading food/drink .Disappointed as we really needed to relax and disturbed sleep did not help. We had two sinks in our bathroom and the right one was extremely smelly, we reported this to reception but no one did anything about it., we couldn't use it and had to keep the plug down but the smell still kept coming up. A light bulb was flickering and again we reported this and nothing was done, luckily we had other lights in the room so we ended up switching it off. Our TV wasn't working the picture kept breaking up on all channels and we reported this on arrival and that was promptly sorted out. We would stay again as we love the hotel but unfortunately not in our favourite room as seeing this room is the most expensive one we expect alot more. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and on arrival took our meal times for breakfast and dinner. On arrival to the restaurant for dinner we had to wait for 20mins before being served as apparently our bookings weren't on the computer system, which was really strange! We own 5* holiday accommodation and up keep on all levels is so important, one thing which was concerning was the pac testing was not up to date, i.e the TV date was 2018? Others were 2019/20. This should be done yearly. We still enjoyed our stay but did come away disappointed. The hotel has also had a copy of this review.
Great rooms, spacious and unique, with a touch of history! Great service from staff and a very clean and well-kept hotel. Lack of sockets in the room but overall a lovely stay!
Best Wedding Day!!
We celebrated our wedding at The Alverton and had the best day ever! All of the staff were exceptional, very friendly and professional. The food was just delicious, we asked for food that wasn’t on the menu and the chefs were so accommodating, all of our guests commented on how exceptional the food was. We couldn’t recommend The Alverton enough for your special celebrations, I just wish we could have our special day all over again, everything was just perfect! Thank you so much x
