Dockside Restaurant

We just tried it because Floramo's in Chelsea was good years ago when we last ate there. We got a terrible odor of cigarettes at the parking lot entrance area on our way in and out. The restaurant interior is awful. I hope they plan to decorate and make some layout changes. It's has no charm and no ambiance at all. Just plain walls. There are tables with chairs and there are booths. There is also outdoor parking lot dining. The menu selections are limited and very basic. Some meat. Some poultry. Some fish. Some pasta. Not sure if they had desserts available but there was no specific menu and nobody asked if we wanted anything after our meal. No drink menu was available. There is a paper beer and wine menu (with no descriptions of the wines) that our server brought after we asked what was on tap. It was very limited. Seating was truly awful. They sat us in the corner next to the windows in front and along the parking lot. The sun was blasting in and there are no shades. It's just a big unattractive area with uncomfortable tables and chairs. We passed many empty booths on our way to the front and would have preferred to be seated there, but they didn't offer to seat us in that section so we figured it was due to a lack of available staffing. It wouldn't have changed our overall impression anyway. One person in our party ordered shrimp scampi and it was really terrible. It was a watery mess with broccoli and mushrooms in a puddle of liquid. It looked unappetizing and it was. One person ordered chicken tips with rice. It was basic and tasted okay, but nothing to write home about. One person ordered the turkey tips with fries. The fries were steak fries and they were not salted. So bland. You must salt fries right out of the fryer. Everyone knows that. It's basic frying 101. The tips were moist but didn't have any flavor. The exterior sauce was watery. Again, nothing remarkable and nothing worth going back for. It is a lackluster place. We hope for their sake that it improves. We don't plan to return.

Welcome Floramo's to Wakefield. The menu is very small. Waitress told us they were "in between menus." So we had to choose from a lunch menu. Whoever created the menu forgot to include a section for appetizers, salads, drink options. Food was almost as good as the original in Chelsea. Waitstaff and kitchen are not in sync. Got our salad after our meal and after having to ask 2 different waitresses. Also had to ask for 2nd round of drinks. Will revisit in a couple weeks and update. Hopefully they with have things together by then.

Dockside has always been bad, however the chef from Floramos took over the kitchen, so I wanted to give it a try. It was a Sunday around 3pm, so I called to see if reservations are needed and the hostess informed me that they do not take reservations, however if we come now, there is a waiting list. We didn't care if we waited so we went and were there in about 15 minutes. When we got there, there we no other patrons in or outside the restaurant and nobody waiting, so I guess we missed the rush . Our group of 5 people walked in and an older woman was at the counter, clearly looked annoyed and unhappy, brought brought us to our table. While we were seated looking at menu, two sets of two people were now in the restaurant, our group of 5 and two groups of two. Our waitress came and asked us if we were ready to place the order, which we ordered a couple of apps, but then she asked us to place the full order so we did. I asked if they had bread, and I got "no bread here". This waitress never smiled, never said welcome to the restaurant. Waiting came back and brought our salads first, however, no dressing. As we awaited the dressing, she brought the appetizers, without plates or serving utensils, so we asked for dressing and plates for appetizers. She walked away and came back with dressing, and plates for appetizers, however no serving utensils, but she also brought our meals as well, now we had everything at the table at once. Everyone's order was mixed up. She never came back to ask if we wanted a drink, if we needed anything, never picked up an empty dish. But she dropped the bill at the table, never asking about dessert. Food was ok, which is why i rated it a 2, service was atrocious.

We went there because we were of the understanding that it is now Floramo's Restaurant..i had ribs that did fall off the bone but no bbq sauce on them..asked for bbq sauce which they did give me..it was like water very disappointed..my husband had turkey tips which were very dry..if this is what the new Floramo's is going to serve they will not make it in Wakefield..sorry

We got take-out and the only thing I can say is that it was subpar. The haddock was cold and lacked flavor. The sweet potato fries tasted reheated. The green beans were canned!! The mashed potatoes were pretty good and included the potato skins. My husband did enjoy his Shepherds Pie and liked the combination of ground beef, potato, corn, onion, and cheese. I don't know if I'd order again. We used to go to the Dockside a lot before Covid but it seems that the quality has definitely gone down.

We popped into the Dockside for dinner at the Wakefield location. We've never been to this location before. Overall, it was just okay. This is a down home place nothing fancy, but you know that fining here. Price of food seemed a bit high for what you get. I had the turkey dinner, which I thought was very good for thus time of year with Thanksgiving just around the corner. My two boys got the Mac & Cheese and the chicken pot pie, which they both did not like. I tried the Mac and Cheese, and despite it looking very good, the cheese used tasted like the kind of cheese you add to nachos at a movie theatre. It was a bit off. The pot pie did look very good, but my son did not care for the puff pastry. We're bias, but having a good pie crust is better. Service here was just okay, it was not busy the night we were there and our server although well meaning, was not very attentive.

Luv this place just to go I LUV there boneless buffalo wings or ill hav a bit nothing crazy to me there foods not as good there as it was in malden but there drinks hostesses there keno atmosphere all of it keeps us going BAK at least 1x a wk! Can't wait til UP IN SMOKE OPENDS UP IN MALDEN (OLD DOCKSIDE). N THE MUSIC BINGO IN WAKEFIELD ENTERTAINING! Food is OK, staff is friendly and pleasant but service is lousy. Although we had a large group, I did not expect orders to be mixed up or forgotten. One person in our party waited for nearly half an hour just for fish and chips and they gave her regular fries instead of the sweet potatoe fries she ordered, and didn't even offer to correct it, then took an attitude of "Oh well, sorry" and did nothing. She asked for a discount for the incorrect food item and was told all they could do was offer a free dessert but most of the group had already left and she didn't want to hang around any longer. Not a good place for groups (we had 20) but maybe it might be OK for a couple. Not sure I would try it, though.
