Didn’t come here to eat. It’s a former Methodist Church built in 1910. The interior is used as a museum for the Jet stone and they have on display photos and such regarding the jewellery made over the years. They also sell jewellery here. It free entry. The building has been restored to reflect the original building from 1901 while still being used as a restaurant and museum. Worth a stop in to learn about the jet stones and a bit of architecture from the pass.

Great find! Amazing food (we shared a crab sandwich and whitebait) and friendly service. Made very welcome with our puppy Dexter. Even went to the effort of making sure he had water. Highly recommend - cost the same with 2 drinks as it would have cost visiting the Abbey!

Sunday lunchtime visit - Whitby crab sandwich and a portion of chips. Delicious food, very pleasant service and a building steeped in local history. Whitby jet museum fascinating.

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend and we were not disappointed. We visited the museum of Jet first, which was really interesting and free of charge. We decided to eat outside in the little alleyway, lovely to be in the fresh air and out of direct sunshine. We ordered the chowder which was the best we’ve ever eaten. Great food and service and excellent value for money. Well done!

We loved this place so much, super nice and friendly staff and a nice place but the seafood chowder was the best we’d ever tasted in our lives - just beautiful flavours, perfectly seasoned, a very generous portion and fantastic value for about £10. Divine!! (Great Whitby jet displays!)

Set within the whitby jet museum. We had the open crab sandwich with apple and thyme salsa with twice cut chips.
Pleasant surroundings with a nice atmosphere and with nice and friendly staff.
I definitely recommend this eatarie.

We didn't eat here but the menu & food looked great. It's a really beautiful Victorian building with original features & original Victorian tiles.
There are some lovely examples of Whitby jet jewelry, carvings and ornaments.
There is also information about how the jet was formed & mined which was interesting.
Well worth a visit if you are in Whitby!

Beautiful hidden gem inside the renovated old Wesley Hall, just beyond the museum at the entrance. The feeling inside is much more expensive than the very reasonable prices and the atmosphere is welcoming and laid back. We had the large bowl of mussels each which were delicious , accompanied by a glass of lovely Rioja from the lunchtime menu but we will definitely be back sometime to sample the evening menu. Highly recommended

What a wonderful building and such excellent food any time of the day. Staff are friendly and the location is central in the old town. The gin bar always has something new to offer. Dog Friendly, Family Friendly, Music on Wednesday nights a real treat.
