If you don't have a reservation, they try to help you in some way. However, it might be better to book a table before going. Lovely food. I've tried fish and chips at other restaurants, but honestly, this has been the best. Exceptional and friendly service. Good music. It was our first time in Birmingham, and they even recommended different points of interest. Thank you lads!
⭕Bonus: they also have a photo booth, you have to try! 📸 5£ 4 pics and you get them instantly. You get a code to download them, as well if you also want them digitally. Lovely 😍📸

Was in Birmingham for a works meeting and we stopped in here for Dinner. So very pleased we did.
Firstly the building is beautiful with a really scenic location. The atmosphere inside was brilliant and the staff fantastic.
The Hanging Kebabs are worth every penny and the vegetarian/vegan options are plentiful.
If you get a chance check them out as their food and drink are some of the best in the area.

Had a great time at the canal house. Greeted by some very friendly staff who were very attentive throughout the visit.
The food was served up extremely fast after ordering, impressively so.
For atmosphere, the restaurant building itself is stunning, live music was on in the lower level but also hooked up to the speakers so you could hear it clearly in the background while eating. The outside area looked great for the summer, and I will definitely be returning.

I had a fantastic time here! The staff were so nice and accommodating. I went on a crowded Wednesday evening and I was afraid there would be no table availability but they made it happen! I got the katso hanging kebab, which I have never seen before but it was super tasty! One side note is that when I did order the sweet chili chips, the bottom chips were just swimming in sauce which made them a little too overpowering but other than that I had a great time and the decor is super cute as well! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to go and sit by the canal for a drink!

Was recommended to us only 15 mins before entering.
Beautiful place you have. Very busy on a Saturday at 4pm, but they found us a table for 2.
Service was impeccable, not just from our service but from all staff. Very professional.
The only down was the earphones staff have to wear stops a 100% staff service, we often had to say it twice and louder.
Would definitely recommend it 👌

Well what a great afternoon was spent at The Canal House.
The staff were very attentive and made sure we were looked after.
The bars has at least 3 different areas to enjoy, not to mention the outdoor zone on The Gas St Basin. Loved it.
It’s been many a year since I’ve been here and hopefully I’ll be able to enjoy the bar again soon!

Had a great time at the Canal house recently, lovely setting and great decor. Our meals were delicious. Staff were helpful and attentive. The dessert wasn't as good as it could have been compared to the main. But overall a great night.

This truly stands out among pubs with its cozy atmosphere, satisfying food options, and incredibly affordable prices. What impressed me the most were their surprisingly good cocktails, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall experience.

Nice vibe, friendly waiters, fast service and good food. What more do you want. Went to canal house as a group. Everyone enjoyed the food. The plant-based burger was great and the fries were seasoned very well 👌🏽 the raspberry and lemon tart was also the perfect finish to a heavy meal; light, sweet and refreshing. will return to try other food on the menu.

Very comfy and stylish, the service was alright, they missed asking us for what type of sides until we pointed it out, and overall, the food was great but a bit pricey.

Lovely food in a beautiful setting. Great choice of food & drink options and food can be ordered from your table via the QR code. Food was served quickly and was delicious 😋. We were lucky enough to be seated out on the terrace which was beautiful in the sunshine, will definitely return when next in Birmingham!

Great gem of a pub on the canal in Birmingham town centre, friendly attentive staff, great selection of draft beer, great cocktails and tasty food I recommend the hanging kebabs they were delicious

It's a nice pub which is basically on the canal. So I could enjoy my pint with great look at the canal in the lovely warm weather. The upstairs has pre-booking places for food, downstairs providing nice vibes with music for a free drinkers. Sometimes place gets so busy, very popular to come with some unique selection of beers.

Really lovely pub, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We enjoyed a lovely dinner, and the live music was great too. Lots of options for non meat eaters too.

Just had drinks. Let us sit down and wait as we were in a bit before opening time. Made me a fairly decent Cortado even though not on the list. Seems like a good place.

Family gathering for a 70th birthday. Table of 12 in a private area they call the office. Excellent spot and excellently presented.
Food great, especially the Steak Pie.
Young man called Joe looked after us throughout the evening and nothing was too much for him.
Best pub I’ve been to in Birmingham for many years. Just wished they would have the footbridge opened so that you could take the scenic route from the Mailbox rather than the dark alleyway.

Great place with nice atmosphere next to the canal. We - group of 4 - were having a place outside and drank beer from different countries that were on draft. Food was good quality, too.
Can absolutely recommend The Canal House.

What a fantastic find!
We visited a couple of weeks ago and to say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The food options were excellent and importantly for us, Vegan 🌱 & Plant Based options were not only plentiful but incredibly tasty too. We will certainly be coming back here again. There’s a lovely view of the canal if you sit outside (who knew Birmingham had more canals than Venice). The staff and servers were excellent and the quality of the food (and drinks) was excellent. Thanks for such a fantastic experience, see you again soon.

Lovely place. Beautiful setting, live band very good. The staff were very friendly but I feel with the weather being so warm and it being a bank holiday it was obviously going to be very busy and there were just not enough bar staff. The staff you had working did there very best but feel the long wait at the bar coukd have been avoided.

Visiting from Glasgow and had a lovely afternoon at the Canal House yesterday. What a great vibe. The staff were fantastic . I chose a Deli Plate and have to say the cheese and chicken fondue was one of the tastiest things I’ve had in a long time . Hubby’s chicken burger hit the spot and the cookie dough dessert was delicious. Defo worth a visit .

Beautiful establishment, lovely location, great service & wonderful live music!
A group of us booked a cocktail masterclass & had a really enjoyable afternoon-would highly recommend it! Anthony was a superb host with great patience teaching 6 of us! The atmosphere was great, the food delicious & the service was top notch with all staff very pleasant & welcoming.
This was my first time visiting The Canal House & definitely will not be my last

Had a meal at this lovely, canal side venue last night. Vibrant atmosphere, friendly and professional staff, interesting food and drinks menu, the food was delicious.
I will be returning soon.
