I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating my wife's birthday at Sabai Sabai in Harborne, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming service set the tone for the evening. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special.
As we indulged in every course, it became evident that Sabai Sabai is a true culinary gem. Each dish was an explosion of flavors that transported our taste buds to Thailand. From the fragrant curries to the perfectly balanced pad Thai, every bite was a delight.
What truly stood out, aside from the incredible cuisine, was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely cared about ensuring that my wife's birthday was a memorable occasion. Their dedication to making us feel comfortable and valued was heartwarming.
Sabai Sabai in Harborne is not just a restaurant; it's an experience that leaves a lasting impression. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience filled with flavorful dishes and exceptional service, look no further than Sabai Sabai. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to all of our friends!

Group meal of 10 at Sabai Sabai. Food was 10/10, very delicious, fresh and appealing. Opted for spare ribs - starter, and sharing menu for 2 - mains. Food was plentiful. Cocktails were cocktails with alcohol and nidely presented. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Venue decoration was pretty and welcoming. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return again.

An excellent meal. I had the sea food dumplings to start. The sauce was sweet and sour to taste. The main was I had the spicy chicken green curry with coconut rice. Fantastic spicy and flavourful. The staff warm you it’s hot before order, not that hot for a madras eater. Companions has satay / fried bags. With tamarind duck / yellow curry, only soft drinks. I tasted the tamarind duck, superb. Nice setting, good service. Highly recommended.

Their coconut rice is elite! Desserts were nice too. A little pricy but nice for special outings/work outings. They do ask questions if you remove service charge so that is a bit forced.

Offers spicy food. Chilli flavoured dishes may catch some patrons by surprise! Be wise with your choice of dishes. Sea Bass Fillets is a regular personal choice. Highly recommended. Enjoy your meal experience.

We almost didn’t go inside after thinking the place was closed due to the subtle lighting inside but me and my partner persisted and are so glad we did.
Service was prompt and the food was exquisite, particularly the seafood platter for 2. My partner had the stirfry with seafood and garlic noodles which was fresh fragrance and surprisingly light, my payang with prawns and garlic rice was just right a full rich coconut sauce with a luscious creamy sauce, all this with subtle hints of citrus, the garlic rice wasn’t bad either. And the portion sizes were spot on, we even took some home.
Lemonade is wickedly over priced as are all the soft drinks to be honest.
8/10 would go back
Thankyou for the hospitality

Good ambience and food. On the pricy end. Seafood platter is a must try! Drinks were average. Would recommend going for multiple starters rather than mains!

We came here on a Sunday afternoon in July. Service was very good and the staff were pleasant. Restaurant is situated on the corner and is fully glazed all around giving it a lovely light view. Both the starter and the mains that we ordered were delicious and flavoursome. Timing of each course was just about right.

Great food, Great service well priced. You'll restrain yourself from ordering double portions of food lol

Really good cocktails. I highly recommend the Thai Colada if you like creamy cocktails.
Service was good. Efficient and professional.
The food was tasty. It didn't have a wow factor but was decent. I don't know what it was but it didn't seem as good as the food I had eaten in Thailand.

Best Thai in Birmingham that I have eaten at. Haven't had a bad dish in all the times I have been and I have been a number of times. The service however can be a hit slow and hap hazard when it's busy.

First visit to a Thai restaurant. Everyone was very attentive, and the waiter was able to explain what was in the dishes. We were a party of 14, and the waiter got everyone's drinks and food order correct. The restaurant had a lovely ambience.

Great meal here, lovely restaurant itself, fabulous staff and delicious food. We (4 of us) went for the Set Menu B, all of which was delicious and plenty for 4, we ended up taking lots home with us too - starters were a particular favourite and the duck and sea bass for mains. Great cocktails too, we tried 8 of them, the best were the sabai sabai swizzle and eastern promise.

Went there last night for a friends birthday. They seem to be going down hill recently. Ordered 59 tofu with aubergine. The dish turned up with no tofu. I wasn't 100% certain it should as I didn't recall the menu description so I asked the waiter. He lied to me and said it shouldn't contain tofu. They also served the wrong dish to one of my friends and served another friends dish with far too much spice.

Beautiful food, great taste and decent portions. The staff we're all lovely too and couldn't have done more for us.
Would defiantly recommend.

My husband and I celebrated his birthday at Sabai Sabai this evening. Plenty of Vegan choices, eloquently explained and delicious food. Our waiter Shahin was fabulous, we would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. We shall certainly be returning. It's so lovely to go to a restaurant as vegans and be treated so lovely. Thank you x

Food ok.. overpriced n small portions.
Waited over 30mins for starter then told us we didnt have time for puddings as table was booked after us. Although i dont do puddings, if they going to restrict your time slot then shouldnt keep you waiting so long for starters.
Than charged 10% service charge... sorry dont agree with that, it should be optional.

Great restaurant that serves excellent food, has a good selection of drinks and always served with a smile. If you like Thai food, this is the place. You can park over the road at a modest price.

I've eaten in Sabai Sabai Moseley many times and I think the food is really good but as I couldn't get a table I booked the harborne branch instead. <br/>It was very busy and had a nice lively atmosphere with people drinking attractive cocktails. The service was a little slow due to how busy they were but the food made up that. I had a green curry, very original I know but it was really nice, my boyfriend had the sea bream which tasted suspiciously like mackerel to me but who knows! We had some green pancakes with ice cream for dessert and they were really good. Sabai sabai in Moseley or harborne is a safe bet when dining in Birmingham :)

The lychee martini was excellent, and I recommend the green Thai curry!<br/> Cost 43£ for two mains (mains do not come with a rice, these are ordered separately), two drinks (Martini and a pint of Singha), and some prawn crackers with sweet chilli. <br/>I would recommend it, the mains were delivered after 10m, and the staff were great.

This is a popular Thai restaurant and we have been a few times, thanks to my wife's deep love of the country and its food. The staff are friendly and the food is very good. The lunchtime special is also recommended. However, it is worth mentioning that on two occasions where we have pre-booked, our table has been delayed by half an hour, and on both occasions the staff just asked us to wait by the bar, with no seats available (there is a small waiting area but this was full of people in a similar situation) and no-one offered us drinks. I had to walk into the restaurant area to get a chair for my obviously-pregnant wife. Again, more than once we have been brought the wrong drinks, even the wrong dish, and side orders have been omitted. Service can also be rather slow, although as I said before, the staff are very nice. I suppose it says a lot about the food that we keep going back despite the other failings! The atmosphere is generally relaxing too, and the decor is great.

Yummy Asian. I'm a big fan of Asian food of any sort, and actually enjoy non-traditional (ok, probably more Westernized) dishes. If I ever actually go to India, China or Japan I will probably be in for a shock, but as far as great food for that palatte goes, in Birmingham this is a great option with very good value for money.

Mixed feelings. Great place for groups but the food wasn't very authentic Thai. Still, enjoyed my evening and service was pleasant.

FABULOUS FOOD. I've decided to introduce my two friends to Sabai Sabai Harborne. They've just returned from a fabulous winter cruise and I'm worried about matching up to this 5*experience, but immediately we enter, we all agree that the combination of white globes shining in the huge windows, deep reds diffusing from the wooded nest above us and purples glowing in the bar make Sabai Sabai feel like a wonderful oasis against the freezing cold outside. In fact, we are so busy admiring the decor that our kind waiter has to nudge us gently into ordering. <br/>For starters, my friends decide on Mixed Platter which arrives beautifully displayed around a hand carved flower. "A good choice," they say between mouthfuls, "You get a whole array of delicate flavours, the batter's so light and the sauces complement perfectly. Even the dressing on the salad tastes good. It's not just a throw away decoration."<br/>My mussels are served in a hot thick sauce crowded with chunks of red peppers and green beans. "Amazing," says Sam, using a mussel shell as a spoon to try it, "How do they pack so much flavour into such a light dish!" I am impressed with both its sturdiness of taste and generosity of size.<br/>By one of those strange coincidences, mutual friends, doctors, are sitting unexpectedly at the very next table. "What do you think of your food" we ask. "Fabulous," they reply together, one of them adding, "I tried Prawn Soup for the first time and it definitely won't be the last." <br/>For mains I have Sizzling Beef Platter. I can taste the kick of the whiskey followed by sweet heat and beef meltingly tender. A few mouthfuls of coconut rice washed down with Argentinean Malbec complement the circle of deep flavours perfectly.<br/>My friends have gone for Weeping Tiger and Stir Fry Chicken with Garlic and Pepper. "Oh my goodness!" they cry, "We're in food heaven!" "The broccoli and mange-tout taste so fresh but at the same time you know the beef's marinated," says my friend. "In this one dish there's such a fabulous combination of flavours and textures, and I know what I'm talking about because I've had Weeping Tiger twice before, once down south and once in a buffet. Neither was a patch on this, one was too tough and the other too stewed, but this Weeping Tiger is amazing."<br/>"In my opinion," adds her husband, sipping on whiskey, "You could eat this meal in a Michelin restaurant and not feel cheated."<br/>Suddenly the lights go down and a troupe emerges with a candle lit birthday cake. They are beating Thai drums and cymbals. "Happy Birthday," they sing and dance Thai style to the great delight of the birthday party.<br/>"Hello!" This time it's Patsy of Patsy and the Revellators, a fine jazz singer. She's spotted us and come over for a chat.<br/>"What did you think of your meal" we ask.<br/>"Gorgeous," she says, "As always, Fish Cakes and Massaman Lamb, gorgeous , absolutely gorgeous. The lamb was so tender. And we had Chicken and Prawn Golden Bags with a Plum Sauce that didn't look like plum, well it wasn't red, but it was amazing, a real tang, brilliant."<br/>"Where are you playing" we ask. "The Vaults," she says, "Thursday this week. See you there."<br/>It's time for the dessert menu. Coconut Panna Cotta looks delicious. But we realise we're too stuffed. So the good news for all of us is that, despite the Arctic conditions, we've kept to low fat.<br/>It's cold outside, but this meal will keep us filled with memories of taste, warmth and friendship till the next visit because now we now know there will always be another time.
