Enjoyed a meal at Henry Wong's recently. Tempura prawns were lovely. Lamb satay was our favourite dish. We also ordered the crispy duck pancakes. Nothing wrong with this dish at all, just felt it was slightly over priced for your standard crispy duck pancakes.

This is certainly the top Chinese restaurant in Birmingham.
The food was amazing especially Yung Sung and the Laziji lamb. The food shown itself that the chef was very delicate in preparation and cooking. The lamb was well marinated and very tender. Other dishes were also outstanding compared to other Chinese restaurant.
The staff were amazing. They were friendly and, at the same time, very professional. Michael, the manager, was polite and professional in what he's doing.
The atmosphere was great and classy. The music was cozy and classy.
Overall, we can say that this restaurant is very impressive and we will surely visit again.

Excellent! The food is absolutely delicious, no if ands or buts! The restaurant staff are brilliant so kudos to them. Presentation of the food and the 1st class treatment is second to none. Definitely a restaurant for special occasions and to take anyone to impress. If I lived on Birmingham I would go there at every opportunity

Very busy and cosy little restaurant and you can immediately see why. Staff are very on the ball and the food displays their years of being in business. Food was heavenly and very well presented. Would definitely go back.

Delicious food, we've been coming here for years and the food and service never disappoints. Highly rated.

Excellent food and service. Expensive, but very good quality.

Best Chinese restaurant in Birmingham City in my opinion.
I must say the high level has slightly dropped in recent times but still worthy of 5 stars.
I love their seafood soup for starters along with a tasty chicken yuk sung.
For the main course my favourite is the teriyaki steak and the chilli & salt king prawns. Both delicious with egg fried rice or the rice noodles, just order both! Ask them to add peas to your egg fried rice for the perfect meal.

Lovely staff, delicious food and lovely ambience. Definitely going again.

Food was nice but still over priced for my liking. Chicken from the signature dish was chewy but the lamb was perfectly cooked. Its a shame we were rushed out because of the 2 hour only slot. The mains could have come out earlier a there was quite a gap between starters and mains.

The best Chinese restaurant I’ve been to yet. Fantastic service, excellent food with great presentation.
We had the sharing platter for two which was not only delicious but was a great dish for our first visit. We had the house red Malbec on recommendation from the waitress and it was great!
We rang to book our table before our visit and they only had space by the bar. I will personally be requesting to sit here because I enjoyed being there!
Recommend booking though as this place is popular for all the right reasons.

Went for my 31st birthday with family, was a bit of a pain booking as need to leave a deposit and kept missing each other. Other than that food and service was great.
Michael Carter
Incredibly well prepared and presented food. Staff are lovely, too.

The fact that you never find a Chinese restaurant that isn't either takeaway or buffet style is a great shame, as the food on offer at Henry Wongs was some of the best I've ever eaten. Lovely oriental food and not a chicken chow mein in sight, which is a lovely change :)

The food was superb & the BBQ ribs were the best I ever tasted in my life & the sizzling Cantonese steak was the bombdiggidybomb 😋 It's a shame I never got to eat most of it as the bird I took out on a date kept eating everything of my plate the hungry little munchkin 😂

Excellent food, we shared a set meal for two, we did order a portion of sesame toast.... we certainly didn’t need it but it was soooo good

Went there last night with the Mrs, we didn't book but they managed to find us a table as it was rammed. Lovely restaurant with excellent service and mouth watering food defiantly recommend to all you Chinese lovers will be returning.

Best Chinese food we have ever tasted. Large party on a round table was fabulous. Had the set menu and we were not disappointed. Every starter, every main tasted superb. Staff were helpful, polite and attentive. This would have been a five star review if the dragon of a manager had put a smile on her face just once!! She shouted at staff and snapped at some members of our party. Despite the latter we all had a wonderful evening.

Henry Wongs never fails to impress. The food is just really fabulous. Very friendly, helpful and attentive staff. It's the only restaurant I would recommend and I keep going back with my family and friends as often as possible.

I visited yesterday to try the new gluten free menu-food was exceptional; by far the best Chinese I've ever had!
Judi Waters
Thrilled to pieces with this restaurant! Didn't book but managed to get a table, I think because we were quite early, it quickly got full. Beautifully presented and amazing gluten free food, so wonderful to be able to eat Chinese food safely! Great service, will definitely be returning, but will remember to book next time!
Chris Brooks
Tried to book a table online, which requires confirmation from the restaurant.
No reply so I tried calling on Wednesday and Thursday with no answer, genuinely wandered whether the place had closed down.
Friday night came, and rang for a long time and finally got an answer. Asked if we had a table, was told no because they “don’t have time to check all the unread emails”...

Good was excellents usual being going for over 25 years but very expensive for a new years eve set meal. Could have least of offered a complimentary glass of prosecco for bringing in the new year and a coffee for that amount of money.
Sid Rana
Had 11 family members attend a 25th birthday meal on Thusday evening.
Ricky and Mariam never fail to make your visit amazing. Food, services, drinks and atmosphere was amazing.
Justin Powell
Rude manager. Very saltie food. Insisting that we had to pay full service charge. Services charge was £32.75 for 10 people. We gave what we thought the service was worth.
Paul Evitts
Great service, wonderful food and a full gluten free menu. Not expensive either.
Tom Phillips
The best Chinese food top quality all round

Dear Sir/Madam

Further to our first and now probable last meal at your establishment l will endeavour to tell you why.

Last night was a visit that we were hoping would remind us of our celebratory Cantonese wedding meal we had 25 years ago when we were married abroad. Henry Wong had come highly recommended and l will say your actual food was delicious but the meal was marred almost from the start.

We had booked several weeks ago and we like to arrive in time for our booking, in this case 5-10 minutes before 8.30, on arrival we were greeted with almost a grunt and a demeanour of what are you doing here! Not a good evening how can l help you? We were then rushed to a table that wasn't even set, we'd have happily waited and even had a drink at the bar that was in front of us but that wasn't even suggested. We then ordered our drinks which were fine except that we had to ask three times before the additional water that we had ordered was brought to the table . We were only a table of three but our starters and mains didn't come together. My son and l were waiting for some time after our rice and noodles and my husbands main had been delivered.
This is not the kind of service we expected, we didn't seem to have a designated waiter, l think we were served by 5 different people, at at no time were we asked if everything was alright, was there anything else we wanted. We even had to wait 15 minutes for the bill.
This was a celebratory meal for my husband and l, we were not expecting any free extras but your web site mentions how you cater for celebrations and we did say on booking and on confirming our booking that it was our silver wedding anniversary ad it wasn't even wasn't even referred to.

All in all we were totally underwhelmed and disappointed and what should have been a lovely evening was an expensive let down.

Seriously disappointed

Henry Wong in Harborne has been on my list of restaurants to try for a long time; its reputation for delicious Chinese food and luxurious dining experience precedes it. Though I rarely venture into Harborne (as I live on the other side of the city and, frankly, I’m lazy) when I was invited to a VIP blogger night at Henry Wong, I jumped at the chance.

Great food easily best place in area to eat! You have to have the crispy duck if you go!
