Brightons iconic fish restaurant The English is an institution and the food is delicious. I had the fish pie which was divine and full of fish and flavour. A must go destination for seafood and champagne.
Stopped in for a light lunch whilst on a short holiday, found this pub to be a calm island amongst the bustle of the town. Very pleasant staff who offered advice, made conversation, made us feel welcome. Food was traditional pub food (standard Greene King menu) very nicely done, we enjoyed it enough that we returned for lunch on the last day of our break.
Amazing vegan sunday roast. We went back another day and they were sold out by 4pm!
Lovely vegan starters as well.
Meat dishes available as well but we are vegetarians who like vegan food.

Stopped in for a pint with the dog whilst waiting for the family to finish in the arcades. Nice beer and a great spot, on a lovely warm day, to watch the world go by. Very relaxing

A delightful pub with a lovely outdoor area the alcohol was well priced for the town at 4.85 for a pint of Stella this is a competitive price with in Brighton.
A really nice outdoor seating area at the bar the staff were knowledgeable friendly and helpful inside the pub had a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere I will definitely go here again
I just popped in to kill some time and have a half pint. It was a nice atmosphere because I was there at an off time and could just relax and people watch. Would definitely visit again for a meal.

The staff is very friendly, they have a really decent cappuccino
I ordered some chicken wings, where I could choose between BBQ sauce and hot sauce
The hot sauce is not just hot, it's extremely hot 🔥
The meat was very well cooked and tender
I really liked it, but I can imagine for other people it will be to much
We visited on 23/08/23 and the staff were brilliant
Aa I have problems with my back they bought a more comfortable chair with blankets for me to sit outside on
We had a lovely afternoon sitting outside in the square
