Had my Dad's surprise 60th birthday celebrations here on Friday 8th September and it was such a great night! The food was really tasty and the decor, especially the beer garden is just fab. Lynne and all the staff could not do enough for us and really made the night for my Dad amazing. Highly recommend! Will definitely be arranging more family nights here. Need to try the rest of the menu
Had our Christmas meal here last night with fairwater leisure centre members. Absolutely excellent value, great service especially from the female barmaid who was so friendly and attentive. The food was probably one of the best Christmas meals I have had, Turkey was tender, starters were fresh and desserts were very tasty. We really enjoyed our evening and would like to thank the Heathcock for such a lovely time.
Wow, what an absolute food dream! The Heathcock is bar the best restaurant, dining and food experience I have had in all my travels and entire life. How lucky I am to have stumbled across this hidden gem in a Google search. Walking into the venue, it had a relaxed, warm and cosy UK pub vibe. The dining room, though, felt elegant and charming, which matched the food being served. Although travelling solo, I booked in for the Sample Tasting Menu and what a truly delightful and memorable experience it was. Each dish consisted of the best and highest quality ingredients, which all married together perfectly to create mouthwatering creations that had me unable to put down my spoon and fork. Each dish was fresh and flavoursome, and you could tell a great deal of thought, love, and care had gone into making them from scratch. The service was equally exceptional, and it felt like you were in a 5-star restaurant but in the comfort of a home. The Sample Tasting Menu was every bit worth the cost and it's still food I dream of often. If I could, I would jump back onto a plane to Wales for this food alone. A huge congratulations and my gratitude to the team at The Heathcock for creating a food menu of dreams.
Great meal at The Heathcock tonight. Marinated oysters were incredible. Starters very well prepared and mains exquisite. We finished with a choc moose, cheese board and some port. A very enjoyable night. Thanks to the team. We'll be back xx
Had lunch on Sunday, menu is different from ordinary. Lovely choices ,however ,pricy for what it is , mind you ,it's Michelin 2021. Staff are friendly and service excellent .
Toilets needs a refurb .
So delicious! I had 2 different lamb dishes, both amazing, and the bites of venison and duck I tried were to die for as well. Also the chips are perfection.
Attended for quiz night (first Tuesday of the month) - leading contender for current best pub in Cardiff. Great ales. No food on Tuesdays other than exceptional sausage rolls.
The food is always great. I messed up ordering a main not to my taste and looked at my Mum's dish which was my other choice droolingly so my brother had 2 helpings of the main which he greatly enjoyed. The first course was massive and delightful 😊 so I was happily full on the first course so I didn't mind my brother having my main. So next time I will order what my Mum had. The time before I came for lunch and we shared a load of little dishes which were delicious. The staff were great and tried to see what was wrong but as it was my mistake I told them it was my mistake and that my brother was happy having 2 mains. I love visiting my only sibling in Cardiff so I can visit this pub with amazing food.
Amazing choice and clarity for coeliacs, sharing options are great value! We were seated outside and were allowed to order from the restaurant menu which was much appreciated. Only downside was it got very busy so we were forgotten about a bit as the evening went on. Decided to pay and not get dessert
Lovely big rooms with big comfy bed and higher bathroom. Quieter at the rear of the property. The bar has interesting beer and the restaurant is fabulous!
Great local in local Cardiff area. Good beers. Host needs to be a little cooler about people
singing when he's agreed to a male voice choir having an afterglow there,
We ate at the restaurant and were served amazing food! Everything was great, from the ox heart skewers to the stuffed rabbit leg to the Eton mess. Definitely worth the short bus ride out of the city centre!
