Two of us went for lunch last week and had burger, scampi and chips. Food was yummy, good portions and super friendly staff. All smiley and welcoming. Highly recommend.

What a great find. Extremely friendly staff. Good menu with reasonable prices and they sell alcohol. Food well presented. Home cooked and tasty. Seating both outside and inside. A hidden gem in Dawlish.

Great meal as always. The carverys are excellent and very good value. Tonight we had steak and ham egg and chips, both were tasty and good portions. The owner is friendly , as are the staff. Well worth a visit.

Very nice meal I had the roast dinner. On day trip and did not want pub food so nice choices. Aldo felt safe with vivid. Staff friendly and helpful

Me and my wife found this lovely place about 3/ 4 years ago now, The staff are really polite nothing is too much trouble, Back last year my wife passed out while I was outside, Catherine stayed by my wife side and sent staff to get me, . We love this place The food is fantastic and certainly not expensive. ( The ugly duckling is 1000% the place to eat, )we will see u in June Catherine, Diane, & Anthony,

Had an amazing carvery at the ugly duckling today. The food was really great. The staff were fantastic and so friendly. They were very helpful with my food as I have a stick to walk with and they took my food to the table for me. Lovely people and atmosphere. Would definitely eat there again and recommend to others. I Went to the ugly Duckling with my daughter, we both had a starter and main from the specials board haddock fish cakes and 80z steak prawn cocktail and brie wedges. Absolutely perfectly done and amazing quality food. So glad I'm a local and live in Dawlish so will definitely be coming to eat more often!
