We had walked around the great coastal walk to this pub at the top of the hill, looking forward to food and drink when we got there. We arrived a little early before opening time at 6pm but a lovely lady, now know her name is Norma, let us 10 mins before and even allowed us a drink and to browse the menu before opening time. What a lovely welcome.
The food was lovely and good choice of drinks and beers, a cosy atmosphere thoroughly recommend this pub

Stayed in a cottage in Holcombe for a week and ate here most evenings. The food was excellent and the service great. They really made us feel at home.
We had our dog with us and although dogs arent allowed inside we sat outside each evening. The outside area is covered and comfortable and our dog was offered treats each time.
We will certainly return if we stop in the area again 👍

Visited this lovely pub during a family weekend in Dawlish. Traditional Pub with a great atmosphere, friendly staff. We had food while we were there, and it was excellent. 3 Sunday roasts and one Crab salad, along with treacle and walnut tart... all delicious. The staff put themselves out to make our visit to the pub very enjoyable.
I would recommend The Castle Inn as a great pub with excellent food.

Four of us had an excellent Sunday roast here, two had beef and two had nut roast, which had its own veggie gravy. The food was just great and so was the waitress who was just lovely. Will definitely be back!
