Sweet little coffee shop. The price for coffee is pretty high, even relatively to other coffee shops in Edinburgh, and the quality of the coffee is not amazing either. It's ok though, and I had great pastry there. They have interesting cakes too. It's a great place for lunch, too, and they have ice cream. It's in a nice position and they are friendly. There aren't any outlets that I could see or wifi as far as I could tell, so not the best place for working, if that is what you need. There wasn't a toilet either.

Mrs MacIntyre's is a nice cozy place for tea time. Staff were warm and friendly. Had a coffee and cake set for £3. Drank a cup of latte and had a red velvet cake. The cake was moist and the cream was not overly sweet. Also tried the chorizo and chickpea soup which came with 2 slices of wholemeal bread. The soup was served warm and steaming, perfect for a rainy day. You can also buy pre-loved books on the shelves for £1!

A hidden gem of Canongate. Firstly, the ladies serving us were extremely friendly. Everything on the menu sounded real delicious, we went for the Soup and Sandwich meal deal for £6.30. Mrs Macintyre's isn't exactly cheap eats, not if you are a student. However, it is a taster of a fancy restaurant - the food and the atmosphere are top-notch, and the service is great too. GLUTEN-FREE folk, this is the place for you! There are up to 4 different soup flavours every day, with at least one gluten-free option. Sandwiches can be made with gluten-free bread, to order (you need to ask for it at the counter). Sandwich fillings include British classics: coronation chicken, cheese salad, tuna & cucumber, but also more exotic ones, like Mexican pulled meat in tomato sauce. Mrs Macintyre's offer many different traybakes and cakes, all home made. Examples: tiffin, rocky road, millionaire's slice, or classic coffee & walnut cake. There is a large variety of snacks and soft drinks available (Mackie's crisps, San Pellegrino, sodas, bottled juices). They also sell boxes of gluten-free cakes (rocky road, Mrs Crimble's macaroons, Nairn's biscuit breaks).

We were looking for exacrly this kind of place. Small, friendly with great service and coffee. The hot chocolate was delicious. ;-)

We happened upon this delightful little coffee shop on the Royal Mile , while we were shopping. we had the lunch special that included chips, lemonade and a great sandwich made by a very friendly young male employee of about 22 years or so. He spoke to us at length and when I left the store and forgot my backpack he ran down the street after me to return it! By all means go there for Great value and friendly service

Wonderful food including gluten free. The lovely lady made mine after making sure the areas were free of contamination. Also checking the children could have extras on top of the hot chocolate.

Great service today. Really friendly and very, very helpful. Thought a little pricey but was very tasty and prices obviously reflect that it's on the royal mile. My son loved his panini and milkshake. Would definitely go back.

Fantastic little coffee shop on the mile with relaxed atmosphere and high quality espresso. Try one of the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels - delicious! Only possible downside is there's no washroom/toilet.

What a little gem of a Coffee Shop this is, homemade soup, freshly prepared bagels (I had the cheeky chicken, my first ever bagel and it was great) good coffee and friendly service, just the ticket on a cold and rainy Edinburgh day. Very reasonably priced too.

Nice coffee in cosy surroundings. Staff were friendly and although we didn't eat, the food I could see coming out looked good
