Sushi Surprise

Was a regular of this restaurant in 2016-2017. This restaurant is literally heaven for mid-range sushi lovers. Fish is fresh, quality ingredients, good service, and flavours you will definitely remember. However, I remember how prices kept rising then (two times in one year), I thought it was a bit of a shame. Also, don't know about now, but they didn't accept cash then.

Amazing quality. I think it’s one of the few places in London to get great quality sushi, but Sushi Surprise is probably the only one where you can get it at such a great price. I ❤️ getting the surprise sushi of the day for only £1 and I’m always eager to find out what that surprise 🍣 will be for the day!

The best sushi in London! I have been to Tokyo a few times and every bite reminds me of the authentic foodie experience. The Katsu curry is so tasty. The sushi is fresh and the favours were amazing. You can not go wrong with what you order everything is delicious. The prices are really good too. Not expensive at all. Sushi 6-8 pieces £6-8 Katsu curry £7-9 Price wise on pair with Wasabi but on a whole new platform with favour and authenticity. I some times order twice in one day via deliveroo.

It's nothing like the cheap sushi you can buy at Wasabi/Itsu, yet it's a much better value for your money, due to the quality of their fresh sushi. (They do discounts on the over-chilled lunch items from the display on weekday afternoons from 5pm.) Order something fresh for dinner to get the best quality though☝️

Really good sushi rolls for London. Ingredients actually tasted fresh and good quality! With a bit of twist on the flavour too, dash of citrus juice I think. Much better than Itsu and about the same price. The sign is confusing though, it should be 25% off the sushi not 25% for the sushi, thought I was getting a right bargain!

I've been to quite a few sushi restaurants in London and I have to say after experiencing Sushi Surprise for the first time yesterday I think I've found my favourite. The quality is exceptional especially when you consider the affordable price. If you're a new customer they offer free miso soup and a surprise with your order. The staff were very friendly and I'll definitely be back here again!!! I just hope they'll deliver to Bermondsey ;-)

It's great little sushi place, kind of hidden away - but absolutely worth finding. In the area, it's the nicest sushi I've had that doesn't cost my entire months' pay. The menu is vast and there are so many veggie options (if you're that way inclined). The choices aren't boring either, they're very imaginative and tasty too. For the rest of us, you should know that the fish is yummy. I had salmon and tuna, both were very good quality. The salmon just melted in my mouth (YUMMMM). The surprise sushi is a great bit of fun too. If it's your first time, make it known and you will get a free miso soup and surprise sushi (they can do a veggie surprise sushi - just let them know).

We've ordered a small sharing platter (30 pieces) for home delivery. No points for presentation as the platter looked messy and some pieces were upside down. The quality of sushi was good but not amazing - comparable to other restaurants within this price range. Fish seemed fresh. The selection was decent although surprisingly the platter didn't contain salmon nigiri, instead there was seared salmon nigiri which I thought was a bit of an odd choice.
