Shalamar is probably the best value for money restaurant I've used. They are unbeatable when it comes to ordering for large gatherings as the food is cooked fresh for collection and the flavours are always consistent. This isn't a high end fine dining type restaurant, but as a regular frequent food place where the price is very reasonable, it is excellent. I found their bulk order food is much much better quality than their in house meals, although still good.

Went there with six other guys late last night on the point of closing time but the owner gave us all a warm handshake and let us stay and order. Wow! I have been to Asian restaurants all over the world and this one ranks foodwise as up there among the best. Everything we ordered was absolutely scrumptious and there was some left over which we just could not put away. Took our own drinks which is unusual, only big niggle is the tidiness of the eating area and the limited seating, hence the missing star. But as a takeaway outlet, go and visit you will not regret it!

Never judge a book by its cover. This is very much an old school East London Pakistani restaurant/ takeaway. There are two sides to this restaurant, one fast food i.e donner and fried chicken and the other side is a Pakistani restaurant. The food is without doubt excellent and made fresh each day, however decor has not been maintained and this is reflected in the price. So for a cheap good meal to have takeaway this place wins hands down for East London.

Been coming here for years now this is the real authentic pakistani/Indian food. No messing about quality food. If you're after a proper donar desi style this is the place delicious food all the time. You must try there Halwa too damn its amazing. The firm favourite once you try you'll keel coming back.

This place is the original and best kebab house . Originally known as Ahmads shalimar house and been in Hessal street for over 50 years . Original shop was across the road but still the same owner serving good Pakistani food at very keen prices . Its been there longer than other establishments like Lahore kebab house and tayyubs . Also a branch in New Road on the corner of fieldgate street , this branch has been there over 45 years if not more . Same owner with same good good . Staff in the New Road branch are fantastic and long serving .

Excellent Place. Been going here for over 25 years - the curries are some of the best I have eaten in the whole of London. I love the older man whom I presume is the owner.

Good curry house often over looked in the East End of London. Exterior/name might give you the impression of a run down fried chicken shop but the food inside is good. The curriers are all well spiced and would highly recommend the roti to accompany. You can bring your own alcohol in with no corkage charge.
