Never judge a book by its cover. This is very much an old school East London Pakistani restaurant/ takeaway. There are two sides to this restaurant, one fast food i.e donner and fried chicken and the other side is a Pakistani restaurant. The food is without doubt excellent and made fresh each day, however decor has not been maintained and this is reflected in the price. So for a cheap good meal to have takeaway this place wins hands down for East London.

This place is the original and best kebab house . Originally known as Ahmads shalimar house and been in Hessal street for over 50 years . Original shop was across the road but still the same owner serving good Pakistani food at very keen prices . Its been there longer than other establishments like Lahore kebab house and tayyubs . Also a branch in New Road on the corner of fieldgate street , this branch has been there over 45 years if not more . Same owner with same good good . Staff in the New Road branch are fantastic and long serving .

Been coming here for years now this is the real authentic pakistani/Indian food. No messing about quality food. If you're after a proper donar desi style this is the place delicious food all the time. You must try there Halwa too damn its amazing. The firm favourite once you try you'll keel coming back.
