I didn’t like my main dish much because of the sauce (but my husband liked it). My husband had green curry and was a bit disappointed. However, sides in this places are amazing. Roti, udon noodles and especially rice with sesame oil and lime juice were absolutely delicious.
They have milk in the kid menu, which was great.
Their bottled cider was also good.
The service was very friendly. The place overall is nice.
The location is perfect.

Really good visit to Tampopo, my first since the menu has been updated. The crispy pork belly was delicious and beef rending was lovely and tender with vast array of accompaniments. Mike, our waiter, was very efficient and made a cracking raspberry cocktail.

I absolutely loved tampopo! The vibes, the staff and the food. Everything is a 10/10. We ordered chicken satay & green curry. When i tell you the curry is spicy it’s actually super spicy. 🌶️
They’ve got a halal menu as well. ⭐️

Had the nicest sweet potato katsu curry here! The place was lovely and so accommodating when my friend and I were running behind! The vibe is so cute and warm! Hollie, El & Phoebe gave an excellent service and so friendly! Thank you so much :)

Wonderful service (Milli was great!)
We had 5y/o & 1y/o with us
Very accommodating & easy
Authentic food & great brand story in the restaurant
Really good setup & would love to go back
Wish they had a location in York closer to where we live

Perhaps one of the best ramen that I'd ever tried. I chose katsu udon soup and it was amazingly delicious! The place is pretty nice though it was quite crowded. Prices are reasonable for the centre. Ps: unfortunately they didn't have laksa soup

Shared seating style. Attentive staff. Food was good. Had rendang which was tasty. Not Malaysian authentic style but nice adaptation with overall good quality meal.

El was a wonderful server, very attentive, gave great suggestions, and was really lovely to chat with. Laksa was delicious and my partner enjoyed stir fried noodles.

We went here in hopes of finding a new place to dine. The food is great, but the service is probably the best part. Kaz, our waiter, was attentive and personal, and really elevated the experience. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and the kitchen can be seen at all times. The only downside is that, in my opinion, the dishes lack variety, particularly in the meat department. However, I can wholeheartedly recommend eating here.

It is a pocket-friendly place with cheerful staff and good foods and an extensive menu.
Great service and tasty food

James made us feel very welcome and catered for our challenging requests! Very charming and attentive. Menu had a selection of great Asian dishes with a good atmosphere with Wagamama style seating. I had the Beef Rendang which was lovely and tender with lots of tasty accompaniments. Vietnamese coffees was lovely and sweet - a great alternative to a dessert. Worth a visit

Fantastic food and service. There's a variety of different foods available (classic noodle and rice dishes, tempura shrimp, curries, ramen...) and everything was delivered to our table soon after ordering. If you're in the area and decide to try it, ask for our server: Kornel. He'll take great care of you like he did us :)

Lovely decor with fast and friendly service. Some different things on the menu I’ve not seen before in Thai restaurants. Sweet Potato Curry was divine - the curry sauce was absolutely beautiful. 3 or 4 GF options available including the Singaporean curry which I was told was delicious. Would recommend the food and this place.

Lovely Asian eating place at the heart of Manchester city center. The place was great, full of people. Love the duck with tamarind over rice. Duck was tender, vegetables were fresh and crunchy with shallot crispies only accentuates the dish.

Great little spot tucked away in an Albert Sq. basement.

For nostalgia purposes, I opted for the Vietnamese Pho w/ rum steak which was delightfully accompanied by herbs, beansprouts, fried onions and chills which you yourself then add. Steak was well cooked and the rice noodles were silky smooth as expected. Wolfed down a generous bowl of chilli oil edemae beans which were equally tasty.

Brisk service with friendly staff. Love how you can peer into the kitchen, and the cheeky sweet that accompanies the bill.

I don't think I've ever had a meal here that I haven't enjoyed. The service is always fast and food is always hot and delicious. I always get something different but oh my goodness the katsu curry and laksa are both mouth-wateringly good and I'd return just for either dish.

Just been and had a lovely meal. Couldn't get into Pho in Corn Exchange. It was too busy but we ate Viet off their menu. Delicious, however, I think I prefer Thai. Staff were great, altogether a very enjoyable experience although Manchester was heaving cos of market.

I was commissioned by David Fox of Tampopo to take photos over three sites for their new website. They've been a constant of the Manchester restaurant scene for 18 years, that's an awful long time in this business. David asked on twitter recently, of the 43 restaurants listed in the Manchester City Life Guide in 2000, how many are still open? *

The best south east Asian restaurant i had in ages. Jasmine rice with basic prawn red Thai curry is the best and divine. Simply awesome. Highly recommend everyone to have food here. Their dim sums are equally good.
Food: 4
Ambience: 3
Staff: 4
Service: 3.5
Overall all: 4
Recommend: to all.
Will bring my full family on my next visit.

Let me start by saying that the best two restaurants I've ever tried in the UK are booth Thai!

Tampopo is a candidate for one of the best restaurants in town.

It has an amazing quality price relationship. The food is perfectly presented and cooked.

The staff is very friendly and available.

Wonderful starters, gyozas, tempura and corn cakes.
Loved also the cury and the Pad Thai,

I'll definetily come back on my next visit to the city!

The menu shows Italian food , are you joking me, fix it, I thought this was an Asian food restaurant , if to start with I can't even see their menu and no one cares to upload the actual one, should I bother to come? No

The service here is excellent but this does not compensate for the poor quality East Asian cuisine. The Waga Mama chain leaves it cold. We ordered two noodle dishes which tasted reheated. The noodles were glutinous, the sauces tasted like out of a jar. I've made better myself in under 10 minutes which is the benchmark I place for canteen food. The venue is pretty. I don't know why it's described as child friendly given the access down a steep stairwell, and the limitations as to siting highchairs. The highlight for the kids was the chocolate ice-cream. It took a second beer to clear the indigestion from the heavy oils. Price reasonable, but pot noodle is cheaper.

Great little place for fresh fast good honest food Me and a good friend use this place often to start the night off. Worth a visit.

Never liked the food here unfortunately but most people seem to..so make up your own mind...I'm not coming along though

Excellent value. Ideal for lunchtimes.

Everything went as it should but there is now something lacking in Tampopo which may need more than the odd change of dish to bring back it’s appeal.

Zomato has to improve in terms of acceptance. Most of the good restaurants are not rated or rated wrongly or not reviewed.

This is a very good restaurant with cuisines from far east countries like Korea, Thailand, Japan. You can get best of what these countries offer from here.
The restaurant had a very good ambience with bench style seating. The service was very good and staff are very attentive.
I ordered Korean delicacy Bulgogi for starters, which is a beef dish served with fiery pickled cabbages. Beef was very good but the cabbages did catch my attention, the pickle was not of my taste, nonetheless the dish was good.

My main was a Vietnam delicacy Pho, which can be had with rump steak or chicken, I went with the chicken. This is a soup noodle dish, where noodle is a flat type one and has a fiber texture. The quantity was more for me so I couldn't finish this dish. I would rate this dish as an average one.

Tampopo is one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester! Service is always friendly and the environment is comfortable. Love their Pad Thai. It taste as good as the ones I had in my visits to Thailand. But my favourite thing about Tampopo is their Vietnamese Coffee. It is a perfect closure to an asian meal. Recommend Tampopo to people that love Thai, Vietnamese and South Korean food.
