A must prematch. Sure there are other places but this is a proper sing song so if you want to learn a few new ones, go here. Beer is decently priced, nothing silly. Washrooms are a bit rough but what do you expect.

Nice atmosphere. Lots of screens to watch football too. I enjoyed Fosters here.

Nice large pub right outside Trafford bar tram stop. Good match day experience as the pub only allows only united fans in and has bouncers on the doors and outside to make sure things are safe. Outside area itself is large enough for the pub size and also includes a car park for those driving. The pub itself is also only 15 mins away from the stadium. It has good United decore inside too makes it very homely. The beer prices are very fair too, really couldn't grumble at the prices. A must for united fans before the game

Delicious grub at this pub. Couldn't fault the dirty chilli burger. The other meal was my daughters vegetarian Yorkshire platter.

Very good pub before united games, with most of the signing taking place out in the marquee. Reasonable priced cans and pints. There are food options and also a good few toilets. Creates a good atmosphere leading up to the game and also heading to Old Trafford. Better than the bishops and less queuing

Lively atmosphere before United home games.

The place to be pre match. Gets busy of course, but the staff inside do as much as they can for you. Can bar outside for cash means not as much queuing

Classic Manchester United pub with a great atmosphere.

Really nice pub in a brilliant location. Atmosphere on events is always fab and goes without saying how lovely and helpful the staff are. Food was delicious and service has always been great. Spoke with manager and he seemed lovely. Will definitely return

The atmosphere created by really great staff and a great manager called Aaron have made it my favourite pub or the last 6 years.... the food is great quality and the staff approachable and resilient and make you feel welcome. The beer is great and I always enjoy my visit whether a short one or occasionally a longer one. It serves a diverse community, where I used to live, and its a great pub

Best pub in the North West, bar staff are amazing always up for banter and make you feel so welcome. Match days are just the best. And the tattooed barman is just the best, great banter and then some........5stars

Brilliant. Proper old school pub. Good cheap pint, Love it. Few pints and a chat with my mates, then across the road for a pizza to walk home with. If only life was so simple 😁

Decent place to drink, was in Manchester and come across this place to watch the football . As u can imagin it was packed with UTD fans all gettin drunk. Staff really do need to learn how to smile a bit and enjoy what they are part of. Wouldnt go again due to the unfriendly staff.

Within walking distance of Old Trafford football ground, this is the place to be on matchdays. Filled to the rafters with Manchester United supporters, this is where the build up to the game begins. Serving lagers, bitters, spirits, alcopops, soft drinks, tea and coffee, plus a great menu of food, the Toll Gate is a fantastic pub on Seymour Grove, Old Trafford. The staff are really friendly and nice, and serve quickly and efficiently to ensure your wait at the bar is as short as possible. They have a couple of big screens too, that show major sporting events, and they have a quiz night one night a week. There is plenty of seating inside, a large courtyard at the front filled with benches and a big car park to the side (if you can find a space). On non-match days it is a nice pub to chill out in, very clean and well decorated. It is also opposite the Trafford tram station.

Another old 'after work' occasional local when I worked in the area, an area which is little more than 'no man's land' sandwiched as it is between Old Trafford (cricket ground and the football ground) and Chorlton a mile or so southwards. There is a metro stop also, but not much more. The Toll Gate in though provides a lift (and indeed injection of life) to the area and a popular pub within hearing distance of the ground itself. Large widefaced SKYTV's, a collection of raucous fruit machines and an outside beer garden facing the, erm, vibrant Seymore grove means it ticks one or two boxes. Odd looking pub architecturally and not at all badjust not worth the trip unless you happen to be in the area.

Parking attendant is far too eager to the point of intimidating. I pulled in and he was straight on my case telling me there was no parking and he'd clamp me if I put my car in the car park - before even finding out if I was going in the pub or not! I did go in and had a J2O. While supping in the sun I overheard some other customers complaining to the landlady that they'd been clamped and the landlady had to get the guy to take the clamp off so the paying customers could leave.
Probably won't bother again.
