Amazing food!! came here for our works Christmas bash, was busy yet i was impressed at how fast our food came out and how patient the staff were. The mixed grilled sizzler was gorgeous along with the vindaloo and Jalafrezi. As a man who loves lamb chops when cooked correctly I think ive found my go to, a satisfied regular has been born.
Not bad but not stand out fantastic a decent journeyman Anglo Indian (OK bangladeshi) curry
Great, cheap Indian! I don't bother with anywhere else on the curry mile now thanks to Lal Qila's great service and food. There's a Lal Qila takeaway round the back, too!
Great meal and great service, mixed up the meals with butter chicken for the kids and chicken biryani for me,,, I would also recomend the chilli chicken MAJOR help when u have a cold
first time we have been there. we normally visit shere khan but over the last few months this has gone downhill. we were greeted with warm friendly hellos from the waiters and escorted to our table. the menu is varied and the prices are very reasonable. the meals all came hot and were delicious. the portions were ample. would definately recommend you give this a try. brilliant atmosphere and the music was just the right level that you could have a conversation. thanks for a lovely meal.
Delicious lamb chops... Awesome biryani... Definitely recommended
Love their Lamb karahi and seekh kebab sandwich،😋😋 and fish pakora
Chicken seek kebabs are the daddy.
Chicken donner is great taste but too much food colouring makes my fingers orange for days lol
I’ll tell you what. This place is alright you know.
I used to go to Sajaans across the street but they put me off seekh kebabs for a while. I came in here and what a lovely bunch of gentlemen.
And their food was top notch too. Had a seekh kebab of course and tried their daal with roti. It was really really tasty and well worth coming back for.
One thing is the daal was a bit expensive (but what isn’t these days) it was yummy.
Oh and they take card unlike some places around this neighbourhood.
Thank you Lal Qila
First discovered this place back in 1999 whilst at uni in Manchester. Visited this place after approximately 3 years and unsurprisingly, whilst the rest of Wilmslow Rd businesses have changed. Lal Qila is one of a handful that have stood the test of time and change in taste. I am not surprised at all that after first having their sheekh kebab in naan 23 years ago, even till now it has the same flavoursome authentic taste. I will go as far as to say I have never ever had a more satisfying sheekh kebab unless it's from here. One of my core uni/Manchester memories.
Excellent restaurant nestled amongst several other places of variable quality, I can say I have been a few times now and everything I have eaten has been really enjoyable and full of flavour, the waiter make excellent recommendations, take note of this and discover something amazing, I had chicken kuchi on my last visit and I urge you to try this dish , enjoy!!
Get what u pay for, nice simple cheap food. Service is quick and nice and food is good.
By far the best lamb sheekh kebabs, I've ever tasted.
The consistency and quality hasn't changed in over 30 years.
To compliment the sheekh kebabs, the nan is nice and fluffy.
Always a pleasure to get a quick bite to eat whilst in Manchester!
Nice and quite place to sit with family
We tried the takeaway around the corner of the restaurant. Very fast service, chargrilled kebabs were very tasty and succulent served with a very soft naan and fresh salad. One of the best kebabs in the area. Lamb chops were also very tender and have a lovely barbequed flavour.
Popodam as a starter just perfect. Nowhere else I find choose of chutney like here. Food is perfect every time. Stuff are nice and kind and helpfull. Price is ok. Excited for next visit.
