New Garden Chinese Restaurant

Cosy and intimate reastuarant located above a bar in Caerleon. Paid car park nearby. Overall a fantastic experience, food was of a high standard and service was exceptional!. Took my mum for her birthday we all enjoyed our meals and felt it was great value for money. The waitress went out of her way to ensure we were ok and she even gave our little one some paper and pen to keep her entertained whilst waiting for food. They offer a £5 meal for kids with options, our daughter opted for egg fried rice with chicken balls and curry sauce. This was helpful as most young children don't eat much so the buffet would've been wasted on her. I Was almost put off by some negative reviews on TripAdvisor and other places but glad we went and took the chance. Look forward to dining here again in the future, felt bad as we wanted to leave the waitress a tip but didn't want to cause a scene over it. Will definitely tip her extra next visit for the outstanding service she gives to make up for not having the courage on this occasion. Only gripe for me was on the food side my shredded chilli beef barely had any beef inside. But one meal out of so many makes little difference, But the rest of the food we had was faultless. The host was also very attentive too always coming over to ask if we needed anything more and taking time to explain item's from the menus to us, would definitely recommend.

The food was of a really good quality. All you can eat but your food is freshly cooked to order so not the usual buffet slop. The service is really good, staff regularly checking that you’re happy with the food and taking orders for more. The drinks prices are also very reasonable unlike most all you can eats. Highly recommended. We traveled from Cardiff just to visit this restaurant and we’ll certainly be doing it again!

Nice surroundings, decorations and atmosphere, very oriental. Dining a bit too formal. Bit off putting only being allowed to order a certain amount of dishes per course which are tiny. I like my rice with my sweet and sour but couldn't order them together as you have to share the order with the other person your with which isn't good if they like other things. Still a nice experience.

Would not go again. Service very slow. Asked numerous times for water . As children with me. Didn't want them having coke/fizzy. Relucatanly brought it. You cannot choose the same starter as another person on the table. !!!! If I'm paying I should be able to order what I want. Brought the main dish to each person.Then a wait before the rice to go with it. The food when it came was very good. But not worth the money or poor service
