Visited with a group of friends 7 of us in total, and we all left amazed at the quality of the food. Various dishes were ordered and every one was outstanding, we regularly go out as a group and this place will be one of our go to places from now on.

I had been meaning to visit this restaurant for ages, I finally booked to come here with my boyfriend on Christmas Eve. We visited Budapest earlier in the year and loved the food, so we were really looking forward to some authentic Hungarian dishes. Goulash House did not disappoint! This is a family run restaurant and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The menu is fantastic, there is so much to choose from. I finally chose the pork shoulder dish and so did my partner, it was absolutely delicious! We also enjoyed the cocktails and traditional Hungarian spirits. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Highly recommended.

Me and my Hungarian missus came here on a short holiday after catching sight of it on a search for a restaurant to eat at. Needless to say she was more than excited and the next day we had a table booked. The food was bursting with flavour, all of the meats that we had with our dishes were melt in the mouth and fell apart even on the fork, the veggies were properly seasoned and equally as soft as the meat. Absolute perfection. And to top it off, the staff were more than pleasant, even managing to clock onto the fact that my Mrs was Hungarian and provided that brief interaction. 5/5, will be returning.

Cafe/restaurant just on the edge of the city centre. We met some friends for lunch on Sunday and all had a very hearty meal. The boar Goulash is very tasty and there are a number of sides like little dumplings and crispy potatoes. It's not a romantic destination but it is a relaxed and informal place to meet friends with kids. Waiting staff was good and the chef popped out to check we all enjoyed the food. Not fine dining but perfect for a tasty winter warmer. Good week day lunch deals.

Authentic Hungarian cuisine. Exceptional Goulash soup and nice wine and spirit selection. The crew is competent and very very kind.

I was in Norwich and I spotted the Goulash House driving back from the city centre to my hotel. Checking out the glowing reviews, myself and my wife made a beeline for it in the evening. We were not disappointed! This may be the single finest dining experience I've enjoyed this year in the UK (and maybe even across the rest of the world). The food was hearty, flavoursome and competitively priced. Our hosts were a delight, even popping out to toast us in scrumptious Hungarian fruit brandy at the end of the evening. Without a doubt next time I'm in Norwich, I'm coming back here. I'm just jealous of the locals who access to such a wonderful establishment!!! A key recommendation - go for the goulash with the dumplings - your stomach will thank you!

when we walked in the place was empty, usually not a good sign for a restaurant. We almost didn't go in, how glad are we that we persevered. Immaculately kept and well decorated we were shown to our seats by a very pleasant waiter. The menu was fantastic and well presented and didn't disappoint. The chef/owner coming out to talk to us was a nice touch and he was very passionate about his food. The place steadily filled up with customers and i feel that this will continue to be the case. Going back there with friends this weekend and can't wait. What a gem.

Our friends recommended this restaurant and came with us on our first time. Fabulous. We shared a starter; garlic bread slices with cheese and mushrooms. I'm glad we all had a piece because it was very more-ish and filling and delicious to taste. The main we chose couldn't be anything but Hungarian Goulash, one of the lunch specials. Ours came with little dumpling tassels is the best description of them. Lovely Goulash with beef tender, mouthwatering and tasty. Very filling again. We followed this with peach and cream filled pancakes on chocolate stripes. Wow. We each had a soft drink and ended with tea and were very happy with price. Lovely place. Cannot recommend it enough. Will be going back.

We visited on a Saturday evening and initially thought it was closed as the blinds were almost shut - glad we realised they were open. We all had the mushrooms on baguette slices starter and they were really tasty, one portion was 4 slices with a side garnish. Two had beef goulash and one the lamb, all with dumplings, and one had paprika chicken with potatoes. All of the dishes were really tasty and the large plates were full. The potatoes were more like saute than boiled and the dumplings were small and not like the UK suet ones, more like spatzle German ones and very good. The goulash meat was all lean with really rich thick sauce. The chicken was on the bone and also really tasty. We were too full to try a dessert, next time share a starter! Drink selection was good - we had 2 bottles of beer and 2 cranberry juices. The total was £89 for the 4 of us so good value for the quality and quantity. Sadly they'd run out of wild boar goulash so we will be back to try it.

Wanted a light lunch in Norwich, but being half term the city was very busy. On the way home stopped off at the Goulash House. We had the Lunch time special. We weren’t disappointed, it was excellent value and delicious fresh food. Unlike many of the “restaurants “ the food tasted fresh and homemade without the “manufactured” artificial flavours! The service was excellent! Will be going back again very soon!

My husband is part Hungarian and can attest that this is some of the best Hungarian food he’s ever had, even compared to Budapest and his grandpa!! We loved it all and the service was excellent and very welcoming, even to our tired child- will be returning soon

Visited this small restaurant in a summer evening. Ordered beef goulash and wild boar goulash. It felt that the latter was slightly more spicy-hot than the former. Both were quite delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. The dumplings complemented the meat quite nicely. Highly recommended.

Plenty dishes, it looks good but it tastes better. Delicious Hungarian food, I chose chicken (I cannot remember the sauce)and beef goulash, both incredible. Hearty meal, highly recommended. Even the chef came to kindly ask for if our choices were good.

We visited Goulash on a Wednesday, fairly early in the evening. It was very quiet – only one other diner there, and background music recently quiet – so it was a good place to catch up with friends and have a conversation. The meal was excellent with good vegetarian options, and staff were friendly. My one criticism is the bread and olives were served as starters. The olives tasted a bit like the Crespo supermarket variety, and it would have been good to have some better quality ones. That would have perfected our experience. Anyway, we would definitely recommend Goulash, and I’d go again if in Norwich.

I was stuck in Norwich due to a relations illness for two weeks, and had to eat out as I was at the Travelodge. I went here on one of the last nights and had a simple chicken curry and it was delicious. Didn't get chance to go again which was a shame. Very quick too!

There I was contemplating another boring English pub carb fest and there it was, A Hungarian Goulash bar at the edge of Norwich city centre. Why it wasnt packed I do not know, the boar goulash was legendary but the cucumber and gherkin side dishes where heavenly, Only criticism they had to do bottled lager which would hopefully change if enough people visit so come on Norwich, drop the burgers and Hjunters chicke and try some real food!
