Credit where Credit is due, very good traditional fish & chips, including mushy peas. Excellent quick efficient service, good price. The "Bunker" is a unique subterranean seating area, to eat your food. Definitely visit again.
Best fish and chips in Norwich. Always good service, never had a bad meal here and normally absolutely delicious. ( curry sauce is great here too!) There's also seating downstairs if rainy. Definitely our go to when in the city.
Amazing soft-shell crab burger! Definitely worth coming to visit just for this alone! Mackerel was juicy and batter was thin and crispy. Chips was perfectly fried and very generous portions!
Must stop by and try!
Grosvenor fish bar has everything in place to be an icon of Norwich. Frankly I am not a fan of fish and chips because the typical versions are just a carb loaded greasy affair. Nonetheless this place made me see what a good quality fish and chips could be.
Our table ordered cod, haddock and tuna fried fish. I am not a fan of the bland white fish but the option to have the fatty tuna as an option was godsend for me. My wife ordered the Bass with Sass wrap and loved it as well considering how that dish is a modern take on the traditional fish and chips. We also ordered the Mussels from Brussels and the garlic butter sauce goes well with the chips and we used it on our fish as well.
The ambience is also great where we had booked a table and they took us to the bunker underground and this is another unique selling point. The price is well worth it too and we came out of the lunch all well fed and happy.
Had a rare day off so decided to finally eat in at Grosvenor's. The regular cod was a good-sized portion, the batter was crispy, and the chips were fluffy. And the downstairs seating area was cool, dark, and bunker-like, which I liked. I can't fault the food, I don't get out much as I also own a food business, but if I ever fancy fish n chips again while in Norwich, I know where I'll be going.
Omg I’m so glad I found this fish and chip shop, they do gluten free batter (all cooked in the same fryers) and wow it’s delicious, first time in about 10 years that I have a decent gluten free cod and chips. You can eat in or take away. Good value for money.
Throughly enjoyed it. Staff are lovely and friendly and very helpful. Definitely recommend and will be back regularly for more
Very nice food, friendly staff.
We had a Christmas special, turkey sausage, battered stuffing, chips, gravy and cranberry sauce. Delicious. Will definitely return when in Norwich
lovely visit here this evening. I've lived in Norwich all my life and never visited! we sat downstairs and we all had an awesome meal. The ordering and paying couldn't be simpler then they bring food to you on lovely little trays. The chips were great, chilli con chips was a huge hit with our non fish and chip eater! The cod was dark golden, puffy and seriously meaty and the High Sea was a real treat
Well done guys, clean tidy, well laid out, good service
Still the best place in my opinion to get chips from in Norwich.. Good value for your money if you choose to dine in or take away. Everything it cooked to order.
The food here is always wonderful, a regular visitor! The only downside is occasionally the staff will miss things on your order.
This has happened on several occasions, when saveloys/sausages have been ordered as part of a larger order and paid for to takeaway, upon getting home and unpacking they have been missed. So paid for food to not have it!
This could be helped by packaging them up separately rather than putting them in the chip wrapping as the staff seem to miss orders other than chips regularly.
