I had a lovely meal here on Friday evening with my wife and parents.
The service was excellent as always. The food was top quality and perfectly cooked. I had beef short rib which was really lovely.
I have been coming here for a number of years and never had a bad meal. It's always a great place for a special meal.
There are three different locations to sit. The bar is a good busy place to sit. Lots of people and a very lively atmosphere. The restaurant feels a bit more posh but it still has a good vibe to it. Downstairs is a bit quieter and romantic if you want a more intimate meal.
I was lucky enough to get invited to a wine tasting at The Last by the gorgeous Philippa Rudd. What a super afternoon, learned even more about how much I like wine and great food - thank you so much to everyone involved X
We had booked The Last Bar for an early dinner after the Norwich Wine Week festival. The service was attentive and friendly from arrival and the menu was packed with innovative and delicious looking dishes. The wine menu was extensive with a selection of unique bottles, we opted for a delightful Orange wine from Austria.
A small plate of complimentary bread, and oil for dipping was provided after we had ordered. The bread was fresh, and had hints of garlic and herbs. A very tasty olive oil accompanied for dipping.
Our party chose starters of the Buratta with pesto and mixed leaves and a dish of the Sweetbreads. Both were delicate and well balanced while being extremely moorish. For mains we chose a Confit duck leg, sea bass, and the shallot Tart Tatin. Everyone raved about the quality of the main courses, accompanied with fries and a side order of the smoked new potatoes. If we were to return to Norwich, The Last would be a place to return with excellent quality food and wonderful service.
Had an amazing Sunday lunch here. Very rarely go for three courses but the menu had so many delicious sounding dishes we just had to go for it. Starters we went for were so tasty. Can highly recommend the Ox cheek doughnut! The beef main has to be one of the Sunday lunches I've had out. The meat was cooked to perfection accompanied by some sizable roast potatoes, heritage carrots, savoy and red cabbage and cauliflower cheese to die for! At this point Sunday lunch out is normally over but the desserts called out. "The Last" blood orange cheese cake with pistachio ice-cream and flacked almonds was so tasty. Then we come to the cheese board of locally sourced cheeses with biscuits. The gap between courses could have been a little quicker but gave time to prepare for the next but for a busy Sunday, great company and a delight on the taste buds I'll let that go.
Thanks so much for everything you did to make our night special. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect, the wine was stunning and the team were so professional. Plenty of locally sourced ingredients too! Beautiful place, would definitely recommend! See you soon.
Oh, my goodness. The food was lovely and the service was amazing but the noise level was intolerable. It started with one loud person at a table of five, but then a group of 20+ came in while waiting to go to another room and you couldn't hear yourself think. They are in desperate need of soundproofing in the bar area. We ate as fast as we could and left.
I just got home from having a lovely meal at the Last Wine bar. The service was excellent as always. Really friendly serving staff. The food was amazing. It seems to get better every time we visit.
The portion sizes are good for the price and the food is beautifully presented.
There was a special of venison which I had for my main course and it was amazing.
It is the only restaurant I know that when trying food I can use a statement like "Oh my god these carrots are amazing!"
I don't know how they do it but everything is perfectly cook with so much flavour.
It is worth booking if you want to visit as they are always really busy.
A truly wonderful restaurant- the staff were knowledgeable and really friendly. They were really busy but found us a table and we were allowed to bring our dog too. All of us had 3 courses as everything sounded - and was - delicious. We've walked past her iften and so glad we chose to finally go in. We will be back for sure.
The most amazing food - highly recommend. Friendly and helpful staff, will be back again soon
Sat downstairs which was pretty quiet in the early evening, but that was fine with us. We enjoyed the privacy. If you're going to book a table I'd recommend upstairs by the windows :) Food was amazing and cooked to perfection! I've got to say that it was probably one of the best meals I've had in Norwich. Being a wine bar of course.... there was a pretty big wine menu you could choose from and if you're not a wine connoisseur but like me just enjoy drinking anything alcoholic in a bottle (I'm not an alcoholic) staff were more than helpful! Can't wait to visit again !
My favourites: pidgeon breast, lamb and lemon cheesecake. On the other hand, plaice was served undercooked and the catch or the day (bream) was not very nice either. The crab for starter was nothing special. Pricey, nice service, although they didn't bring the change (£7) until we asked for it. I didn't know you could decide on your own tip now.
We had an amazing roast dinner. The desert meringue was chewy but still ate it none the less. Staff very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful and attentive. Highly recommend and will go back for sure!
