Great food lovely staff! Besides the carvers for the carvery’s in the restaurant. Two old men carving were miserable and made an unpleasant experience. Also picked up loose meat and threw it on my plate with his bare hands … not pleased with that or there general attitude. Won’t be ordering a roast any time soon

A great garden centre with a huge array of homeware, clothes, plants and gardening equipment not to mention a restaurant too. I would like to say a big thank you to a member of their staff called Andrew who went out of his way today to find out if they had extra mugs in stock. Realising they were out of stock, he placed an order for extra mugs for me and kindly said that he would phone me when the order arrived. You don't find this kind of customer service very often in today's world. Thank you Andrew.

I always love this place, one of our regulars, only had a drink and sausage roll. Saw a lovely body warmer, but they didn't have my size. So only bought bird food today and a couple of easter eggs.

Absolutely delighted to finally visit Highway Garden Centre, I’ve driven past many times but not ventured in - until today. And I can tell you, I am definitely going to be back here!! It’s much larger than it might seem from the outside, and has a wonderful restaurant and cafe area on the right after you go in. The restaurant does a serve yourself carvery on a Sunday lunchtime (although no vegetarian options were available when I went, and no gluten free side options either). The cafe does a range of jacket potatoes, sandwiches, scones, cakes and sausage rolls (including pork and cheese!) and I was pleasantly surprised by the range available for gluten free, meaning I had a lot of choices. Lots of veggie options too. The coffee wasn’t brilliant, but if you’re not fancy it’ll definitely do. The tea is good, and they do a decent decaf. The wait time was long, but I did arrive at peak lunch time so that’s to be expected. The staff were very pleasant and helped find me a chair as it was extremely busy and the only table had no chairs! The cafe is a ‘queue first then sit down’ situation, so they’ll give you a number after you order which you pop on the table and they bring out your food when it’s ready. The garden centre itself is wonderful. I love the home and decor items at the front, next to an entire wall of jellycat toys, and there seemed to be things for everyone - a lovely toy section with puzzles and lego, a garden furniture section, clothing and shoes, accessories like hats and scarves, a kitchen section, food bits, the list goes on!! I loved wandering around the indoor plants, some gorgeous indoor monsteras and bird tables. The aquatic section here is very large, with a huge selection of fish and plenty of accessories. I noticed they were prepping the arrival of pond fish which is great! I made the mistake of naming the large fish in the tank so had to hurry away so I didn’t feel obliged to buy them. The outdoor plant selection is great, well labelled, with a good variety. The only thing missing was more outdoor furniture and sheds, but there was literally everything else, including access to the plant nursery too. I picked up some homeware whilst I was there, and was shocked how cheap some of the items were, a lovely little vase for just £2.99! Incredible. A real eclectic mix. I absolutely loved wandering around here and I’m looking forward to coming back and picking up some plants.

Visited for the first time at the start of January, I was looking for a specific cherry tree. This place is big with a wide range of plants, an older gentleman who worked there offered to help find what I was looking for and gave me a full breakdown of the range and the layout of the garden centre. He was very knowledgeable on the products, went above and beyond to assist me with my purchase. I have visited again recently and plan to make it a regular place to shop. Thank you.

Third year running we had breakfast with Santa. Visited on 23rd December. Our son was properly grumpy when we arrived but your team were superb. Knew exactly how to interact with him and get him out of his shell and smiling again. Santa and his helper Elf spent loads of time with us, just as they did with all tables. It was really thoughtful of your team to offer to take family pics with Santa too, allowing us to all be in the pictures. I think a special mention for your Elf and her Breakfast song! Talk about full of beans!! Breakfast was good too. A great morning.

Took my son to Santa’s Grotto today and it was fantastic. The grotto was breathtaking, so much effort and care had been taken to make it a magical experience for children. Santa’s elves were wonderful, my son was captivated. Santa was lovely, my son was very happy with his visit and his gift. When we left the grotto we went inside the garden centre and I purchased a gift voucher at the tills, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall we loved our visit today, and will be back next Christmas if not before.
