Castle Carvery Racecourse

Went to the Racecourse last night, me and my friend had a carvery and the food was really nice - lots to choose from and everything was fresh and hot on the counter. The guy on the carvery was really polite and friendly. Only thing I would say is there was only one girl on the bar and there was quite a queue (10-12 people) so it took about 15/20 minutes of standing near the bar to be served a drink, no one else came to help her even though there was other staff about. Other than that we had a lovely evening :)

Visited here because we were craving a carvery on a Thursday night after a busy day! Pulled into the car park and boy was it a bump ride. Lots of pot holes so be aware. The restaurant is HUGE!! So many tables! We ordered drinks and paid for the food at the bar and found a table to sit at. It was pretty quiet, maybe 4 tables when we sat down were full. The carvery selection was amazing. Lots of different choices and a good meat selection also considering how quiet it was. Was way too full when we walked out but enjoyed every bite.

Great place with a Carvery everyday. We went late in the evening on a Monday and the food was fresh and warm. Lots of parking available and loads of seating options. The pub was quiet but had a great selection of lagers and beer. Carvery was tasty with about 10 sides available (mash, roasties, brocolli, cheesy cauliflower, spouts, carrots, suede, parsnips, yorkies, stuffing and peas) and 5 selections of meat (turkey, lamb, gammon, beef and sausages). Also a variety of sauces and gravy. Would defenitly recommend for small or large groups. Friendly staff and great service! Would definitely return.

Had a lunchtime meeting with 3 friends, arriving at 12. On entry bar staff acknowledged me and took me through to the table they were seated at. Very friendly and helpful lady. We sat chatting for a while. Table we chose was perfect for space around us (wheelchair) and easy to get around. Menus provided which offer enormous amount of choices. Light bites. Full main menu and sharing platters. Given plenty of time to choose as order and payment taken at the bar. Food arrived in good time as restaurant was not busy. Piping hot and all of us had a delicious meal. Prices are very reasonable and portions were a good size. This restaurant is always busy and has not been redecorated in years. A lick of paint and new carpet would lift the decor 100%.
