I ordered take away from Orford Plaice: fish, chips and mushy peas for one, jumbo battered sausage, chips and gravy for one. Magnificent! I'm so please that this is my local chippy. They've also done a fantastic job at keeping locals fed during Covid-19 lockdown lunchtimes! Constant food delivery riders coming through too.

Chips cooked to perfection as its the best or as good as the very best of the city chippers. Casual and reminds of a 1970s cafe, but it really really hits the spot. Great for a quick sit down meal to line the stomach before a night on the town. Or just perfect to stop for lunch when in city centre. Must be the cheapest lunch or early tea in the city, with seating and food brought to table once you've ordered at the counter. You can sit either upstairs or downstairs areas. Do order a steaming mug of tea with your meal ... just like back in the day. Spotlessly clean place. Do visit the place as it's a Norwich gem.

I decided, having been here many times before, to go here for my lunch. With it being Saturday the ground floor level was packed solid, so what with the weather being cold, I decided to eat downstairs. Descending some steep steps, there was only another couple and the radio playing the chart from that week in 1995 for company. I opted for a jumbo sausage and chips and a Dr Pepper Zero. There apparently weren't any jumbo sausages so was given two smaller size ones. The sausages and the chips were cooked to just the right type of crispness. I then went to meet my friend feeling full from such a decent sized lunch.
