This is an absolute hidden gem. The food is absolutely delicious, and the menu is pretty diverse and extensive. My server Dana was really friendly and knowledgeable, outstanding service. It is a real shame that people Don't know this place exists. I was only visiting Portsmouth for a few days, otherwise I can guarantee I would be visiting this place a lot more.
I would highly recommend anyone in the area check it out.
Visited for a work Christmas party and had an amazing night. Staff were very good; attentive and friendly. I really enjoyed my tapas especially the prawns and the tomatoes. My cocktails were perfect and delicious- I would definitely recommend attending the happy hour between 5pm - 7pm. We also got some delicious churros on the house. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious.
Had a very pleasant dinner here, the staff are very welcoming and were helpful throughout our meal.
There are the usual suspects when it comes to Spanish Tapas, all dishes we went for were very nice and presented well. Our favourite was the meat based sharing board, we had this for starter and obviously made us realise our eyes were too big for our belly!
The restaurant is well styled and has a really chilled vibe.

Really friendly staff, good selection of tapas, wine and beer. The patatas bravos and halloumi are particularly good. Nice relaxed atmosphere - can book a table or just pop in!
I have been to most tapas places in Portsmouth, and I wanted to try Catalan as it opened fairly recently.
Inside it looks really nice and modern. Staff are very friendly and attentive. They offer red and white Sangria, but for me, the red stole the show.
The tapas tasted ok, not the best and not the worst. Unfortunately, the portions were too small compared to other Tapas restaurants in the area.

A friend and I enjoyed an evening without the rest of the gang and it was a nice space to eat and catch up. The service was slower than the average restaurant, but we were busy chatting and had a cocktail to hand. They kept us informed and the food was fresh, hot and delicious.
If you're not in a rush, enjoy a good tapas and a quiet evening at a wonderful and pretty location, this is the one for you!
Had a lovely birthday meal here lastnight for my mum and 6 friends. We loved the tapas deal they had on. Amazing selection, tempura and the paella were our favourites.. and all so tasty, portions are generous and cocktails were delicious! Thank you Lorraine and Dana for a fabulous evening :)
Ate here a couple of months ago, but forgot to do review until I found the card. Our server Dana was lovely and had great knowledge of the food menu. Our tapas was really great - my friend said her nachos were the best she ever had. All in all a great experience.
Very atmospheric, great Spanish vibe. AMAZING food! Each dish was delicious, vibrant and very well portioned (for the hungry!). We drank Mango Daiquiris and Mermaid's Pink Gins, both tasty and fresh but hard to choose as all the cocktails sounded so good! Dana looked after us and not only had great menu knowledge and recommendations but she had a lovely smile and excellent customer service. I will 100% treat myself and friends with visiting Catalan Barcelona Tapas again.
