We ordered from Happy Friar last night.. good food.. long wait for delivery.. when phoned to see where our food was, they were not sure when the driver left with it.. would not let you get a word in edge ways when asking where our order was! But we enjoyed our meal.

Most delicious food I’ve ever had honestly! Absolutely amazing. Especially their hot and sour soup. Cures me every time I’m feeling low or congested. 10/10! And well priced!

This has been my local Chinese since growing up and even though I don’t live close anymore, we always drive here for it. Not overly greasy, great flavours and always going to be good! Great menu with lots of variation

Came the first time and was surprised to have Kung Po chicken with nothing but chicken and carrots. Never had anything like that before. If you have a carrot obsession. it’s a dish for you. I prefer it more traditional with onions and peppers etc. They’ve got a new menu now which does advise it’s a carrot dish. Had the large homemade pancake roll both times, which I enjoyed. Had Sweet & Sour Chicken Hong Style last night which was okay. If like me you’ve been avoiding this place for years as it used to leave you with a dodgy stomach - fear not. It’s safe to return and there is no need to travel far and wide for your Chinese anymore. Thank you Happy Friar for bringing a decent Chinese back.

One of the few Chinese restaurants/ takeaways open on a Tuesday. Had ordered a sweet corn chicken soup which was well made. Was ready within the promised time of 10 minutes.
Menu has quite a mix from Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian cuisine, etc.
Improvements : Accept credit cards without a minimum amount. Review terms with bank! Upload menu online.

Got to love the happy frier, I have used it for years, the food is consistently good. It has new owners and it's nice to see the have kept the same recipes. It's always delivered fast. Only one grumble is they only take cash, still just a minor thing as it's the best around!
