We were gutted when we found out the veggie restaurant round the corner wasn’t serving food any more, but The Elleray had great vegan options, great selection of beers and friendly staff. Very happy!

Called in for lunch with family and 2 dogs. Pub is totally dog friendly and we received a warm welcome. After lunch we went into the Beer Garden, which is spacious and has a selection of table types, including some under parasols. Good service and friendly staff.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a lovely time. On arrival we were able to check in early and were even upgraded by the owner. Rooms were clean and tidy with a lovely bathroom. Only 5 minutes walk from the train station, 10 minutes walk from a car park and a 5 minute drive down to Bowness. Breakfast was lovely and service was excellent, would definitely recommend staying here!

Quick drive to the Lakes & a spot of lunch. Never been here before & really enjoyed it & soon filled up with other patrons. Dog friendly & a great selection of food & ales. I plumped for the fish, chips, mushy peas with tartare sauce & a lemon wedge. Mrs P had the BLT complete with side salad & slaw served on a warm baguette. Both our plates were absolutley empty...Mrs P would have liked a touch more slaw though. All rinsed down with 2 pints of Amstel & 1 pint of San Miguel. Meals served quickly & were red hot. Great staff, very helpful & quickly served. Located pretty much next to the train station (even has a notice board for arrivals & departures...brilliant). Thoroughly recommended, next time we are up that way, we'll definitely go again. Nicely done 'The Elleray' *****

I visited this pub twice during my short stay in Windermere and it was wonderful. The service was excellent and I felt immediately at home. The welcoming fireplace, delicious food and great mulled wine only added to the visit. Highly recommend!

A great pub to spend the night. Friendly staff, good food, affordable drinks prices and a nice friendly relaxed atmosphere. Spent new year's eve there as well as previous nights. Would recommend it without hesitation. It's also dog friendly - lots of dogs in on New Year's eve.

Really good local’s pub with friendly landlord couple; nice touch to have the train departure board in view of the bar. Fine range of beers and ales and often quite busy on a Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening, took us far too long to realise that there is also a lovely “hidden” beer garden at the rear of the pub which is far larger than anticipated, never ate there but the food always looked nice and usually spied empty plates heading back to the kitchen too.

Lovely traditional English pub meals. The fish is super fresh and the chips are nice and hot and so big. Lovely staff who are empathetic with fussy eaters, where it is a really kid friendly place, even offering a kids menu. Best thing about the pub is the excellent value it offers, especially where the prices are almost a flat rate where adult meals go from £11.95 to £13.95.
