We ate here last night and what a lovely evening we had. Staff were very welcoming and the food was to die for! Although it was quite busy we were never left too long, food and drinks kept flowing. One of the best Italians I've eaten at, recommend this to anyone visiting York.

Still very nice but as good as the first time. The calzone was less flavoursome and a little light on ham. Tasted a bit like a takeaway pizza. On the other hand the profiteroles were amazing and the ingredients were good quality. Portion size was not disappointing. Service was not quite on par.

We ordered the calzone, risotto di mare, gnocchetti alla campidanese, and ravioli di carne rosalba. Food and service was excellent. The place/atmosphere made me think I was in Italy 🇮🇹 Price was also reasonable. We had such a nice experience that we decided to go there again the next night/our final night in York before leaving.

My beautiful wife and I visited Mama Mia's in August 2023 and what an absolute gem! An authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of York. The owners were very friendly, very accommodating and happy to recommend dishes. We ordered a cheesy garlic bread pizza, the Ravioli flavoured with lobster sauce and the Gnocchetti. All dishes were fantastic and their Tiramisu was delicious. A truly fantastic place for good, homely authentic Italian food. Would 100% recommend if you visit York. Nikki and Paul

Our first night in York and we came across Mama Mia via Google Reviews. It was only a short walk from where we are staying and from the moment we entered till the moment we left, the staff made us welcome and treated us like we were old friends. We ordered the sharing platter for one and Parmagiana Melazane as starters and the Vesuvio and Quatro Stagionne Pizzas as our mains. All our dishes were delicious and presented beautifully and professionally. We were too stuffed to try dessert but got given limoncellos after our coffees. Would we go again. ABSOLUTELY!!!! ❤️

If I lived locally to York this would officially be my new favourite restaurant. The atmosphere felt like sitting in a little café on the streets of Italy and the food was authentic and delicious. The Lasagna Al Forno was the best I've ever had!

Awesome little Italian restaurant right in York. Went for the location but the food was outstanding. Best Ravioli I have ever had outside of Italy. Our server George was great. Highly recommend this spot.
