This place is just spot on - Great location, great staff, great menu which delivers on everything it promises, and it won't break the bank like some other establishments in and around Lake Windermere. I honestly couldn't choose from at least 3 items on the menu, in the end settling on the more American Diner element of the menu and going with a pulled pork hot dog, upgraded with Parmesan and Truffle Fries. My wife had the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, followed by the "Boardwalk Dessert Burger" - A great little idea and certainly a sweet tooths delight! Honestly, just visit this place if you're in Bowness, you won't be disappointed

Boardwalk is an outstanding restaurant that sets the benchmark for all others in Bowness. Excellence throughout from food to service. Truly outstanding and a 'must visit' on any trip to the Lakes. We recommend highly... Rib Eye Steak and Teriyaki Salmon Salad with Truffle and Parmesan Fries. Gorgeous!

We’ve just got back from a lovely evening at the Boardwalk (table 54) We’re in the lakes for 1 night with our 2 girls and this was the best place to eat when searching on trip advisor, and, it did not disappoint. We hadn’t booked in advance, but we managed to get a walk in table upstairs on the terrace, these tables aren’t covered or heated but we cant complain, we weren’t cold, it wasn’t even breezy, we were really lucky with the weather. The food was amazing, both I, and my husband love a good steak and for it to be cooked just as we like it (me - rare, my husband - medium rare), and they were both cooked to absolute perfection. Our girls, 7 & 3 both had the cheeseburger, and we were able to change the waffle fries to house fries without any fuss. We had the cheesecake & sticky toffee pud for desert, both delicious 👌🏼, I personally thought the sticky toffee pud was just a tad too dense, but that’s just personal preference and I still finished every last bite. I need to give a special mention to Chubby, he looked after us throughout the night, such a friendly, bubbly guy and brilliant with our 2 girls, especially our 3 year old, super attentive and engaging with them and us, and it made our evening that little bit more special and fun. The reviews speak for themselves so we had high hopes for a good meal, but receiving amazing service just makes your experience that whole lot better - so thank you, the perfect choice to eat and I would highly recommend to everyone if you’re choosing to dine by the lake.

Booked after a full day out in the lakes for me and my partner, when I booked I left a note asking for a nice table with a view for us and they didn't half deliver despite the weather, so thank you so much! The service was amazing, we were met with plenty of smiles and super enthusiastic staff, and we got served really fast, we ordered the Chicken Burger, Haddock and Chips and some crispy squid to come out and the same time, and we must've only been waiting for 20 minutes, not to mention the food was absolutely lovely. Thank you so much! Will definitely be coming again 😁

We arrived much earlier than we'd booked but without fuss Jamie found us a table on the first floor with a fabulous view of the lake. We were very well looked after by the lovely bar & waiting team. The food was absolutely delicious and will definitely be returning to this restaurant with one of the mist gorgeous views in the lake district.

We was seated quickly by a lovely young man and was introduced to the girls who would be serving us. The view from our table of the lake was surreal! Food was fantastic and worth every penny. The girls upstairs were so friendly and polite! We definitely left a tip! Great things we noticed during our stay: • Dog friendly. • Good selection of meals & drinks. • Lovely decor and atmosphere. • Clean toilets. 10/10. Highly recommended!

Had dinner here on the last night of our Lake District holiday. Food was excellent, good steaks, loaded fries, and some different starters. Staff were friendly and attentive, food was delivered quickly. Sat on the terrace outside in the sun. views over the lake fantastic. Not cheap but worth it. Was very busy, glad we made a reservation. This is strongly recommended.
