Lovely place.5*
We went here for Lunch. We arrived around 12 without booking. Got a table for 3 straight away but then started to get busy.
We were seated near the bar, so was able to watch the barman make the Cocktails.
We had one vegetarian dish and two fish and chips. Which were both delicious. It was my birthday so they brought out a complimentary dessert with a candle on, which we didn't ask for, so was a lovely surprise.
Cocktails were lovely too.
Very clean and helpful staff. The ladies toilets are beautiful and everyone is decorated different. The who place is beautiful decorated and lots to look at.
The price was reusable and we went as a treat.
Would definitely recommend!

A nice and lovely place for a fine dine experience. We came here for the birthday dinner and had a great time.
Host was lovely and even gave a small complementary dessert 🧁 at the end.
The food is really good.
The atmosphere is beautiful. It’s a perfect location for date night or to have a celebration 🎊

Beautiful settings. Great atmosphere. Service was definately 5 stars. Food was absolutely amazing. Yes it was a little bit more money than you pay elsewhere but you get what you pay for.
We came here for my partners birthday and he loved it especially his "friend" he met in the lavatory. It made his night !!
Sweet like Cheri
We ate like absolute Queens!
This was my first visit and it was worth every single penny. I now know what all the fuss is about.
Not only the food but cocktails were amazing!
Going back to try the Ivy Asia next; my expectations are high.

A superb and 5 star experience. Excellent food of high quality, impeccable service, and a fantastic venue. Perfect for celebrations/special occasions (or even just drinks).
Our waitress ("Carmen G", according to the bill) was brilliant and deserves recognition for her attentiveness, timing, and her positive demeanour.
It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time, so thank you for that 😊.
The Ivy Brighton was the first restaurant I'd seen with such a high number of consistent 5 star reviews online (which is rare).
Will definitely be visiting an Ivy again!

My partner and I had a fabulous dining experience, made all the more special by the impeccable service from Mariah. The welcome from the young woman who greeted us at the entrance and escorted us to our seats was both friendly and courteous. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was convivial and Mariah's table service was delightful. I recommend this restaurant for a fabulous dining experience. Thank you.

Gorgeous restaurant! The greeter on the door was very chipper and friendly, the servers seemed less enthused. The food was OK/good - it's chain-restaurant food on the high end, don't expect otherwise. The exception was the dessert which was outstanding and as much a visual feast as it was delicious - including a photo as it's hard to believe that was all sweet!

Lovely restaurant and was very busy, which is always a good sign!
We booked and were greeted promptly and shown to our seats which were a lovely booth and greeted by our excellent server.
We settled for a nice glass of fizz and looked over the menu. There was a set menu also which although looked appealing we wanted to try some different dishes so went with the main menu.
I had the soufflé which was as cheesy as the description said. Light and film of flavour, I could have eaten two. We also ordered the steak tartar which was equally as eggs-cellent!
For mains we had the steak, boring but well cooked and delicious. My partner had the chicken Kiev which was outstanding!!! Our friend had fish of the day, a whole fish, beautifully served and we shared some greens, truffle fries and a salad.
We washed it down with several bottles of the Cote de Provence rose!
To top everything off the service was on point. Diligent and pre-empted our needs so we never waited for long for anything!
If anything it was just a bit busy .....but with service and food this good, I can't blame them.
Price wise it was fair and we left satisfied and impressed.

When I say it's stunning and posh in there, it exceeds your expectations of beautiful! Absolutely stunning. Amazing waitresses and waiters, salt and pepper calamari was delicious. Sourdough bread starter is huge. Fish and chips and mushy peas was delicious.

Been here a few times, various mixed experiences from very good to very bad both in food and services.
Decoration and food presentation are good and there is no complain there.

What a wonderful experience at The Ivy in the Lanes! The afternoon tea was delicious with a variety of sandwiches and exquisite cakes, all served in a spectacular way.
The staff were outstanding, but I have to highlight Mattie who went out of her way to make our experience memorable, especially for mum who was celebrating her birthday.
We came away full up and extremely satisfied with the whole experience and service. I would highly recommend it to celebrate a special occasion.

Great food, no real recognition of the occasion we were visiting for unfortunately despite it being written in the notes. Good food as per usual. Friendly atmosphere and staff.

Absolutely wonderful 1st trip to The Ivy in the Lanes at Brighton. The food was amazing, there was a really lovely atmosphere, service was top notch. We were served by a lovely lady who was training to be a nurse but had worked for the Ivy for 2 years. I had fish & chips and then was treated to a birthday dessert 💕. Highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Went for brunch to kick off a stag do. One of our party was around 45 minutes late. The staff were very patient. Service was quick. The drinks were a delight and I enjoyed my scrambled eggs with salmon.

Flawless Service, the Ivy always delivers. Food perfect as well! Would love it if there were dog friendly indoors too!

I visited today to treat a friend to an afternoon tea for her birthday and we both enjoyed the experience immensely. Such a hidden treasure in the Lanes, friendly staff at reception, stunning decor, attentive waiting staff and an exquisite selection of treats that all added to the occasion as well as a gorgeous tray of "birthday" chocolate truffles to make our afternoon extra special. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back to try their breakfast, brunch and lunch menus in the near future.

This would have been a 5 star review: impossible to award that rating because of the standard of service.
Our waitress brushed off a couple of questions we had about dishes on the menu, then, when we persevered, answered them inadequately. She brought the main dishes but not my guest's side order; there was a very long wait for this - in the end I had to get up from our table and quietly point out my guest was still waiting. Her reply? 'Oh, I was taking some other customers' orders.' We then had a really long wait to pay, once the bill arrived. She was nearby, but paying a lot of attention to a tableful of men. Finally, another member of staff noticed we were waiting and came to our rescue, though no apology was offered.
The wine waiter poured our wine while we were still drinking cocktails, then failed to appear to refill our glasses when we did need him. Another interruption to our meal with a trip to the ice bucket to retrieve and pour the wine. On arrival it wasn't as chilled as I would expect. Finally - and disappointingly - we ordered one kind of port and were charged for another, more expensive one.
This sloppiness is not acceptable for a restaurant of The Ivy's stature. I've often dined at the original Ivy in London, where the service is always impeccable. The Ivy in the Lanes needs to sort itself out!
On the plus side, the food was beautifully presented and cooked. Starters of smoked salmon and prawn cocktail were rather underwhelming, though the tempura prawns were very good, and the dessert menu could be more varied; ice cream and sorbets feature too heavily and, unusually, none of the three of us were sufficiently tempted by any of the puddings. We opted for the salted caramel truffles, which were exquisite.
Definitely five stars for the decor and ambience: it's a stunning place to enter and to eat in - really fabulous: glamorous yet relaxed, with a real buzz, and the most luxurious Ladies' Room ever! Amazing to see such a dazzling transformation from post office to magical, sumptuous wonderland!

Stunning restaurant, the decor is amazing and attention to little details fantastic. Excellent service at the table and at the bar afterwards. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Food was lovely and portion sizes perfect. Thank you for making our 30th anniversary meal memorable and for acknowledging it with a happy anniversary pud. Highly recommend and will return to try the breakfast soon.

Girls even if you don't need to go you MUST go to the Ladies!! ~Got to be seen. Lovely food, very good service. The only criticism we had was that my husband ordered gluten free toast with his full breakfast and they did not give him sausages because they had gluten in them. Surely they should have asked my husband first if he would like them rather than taking the decision for him? Other than that it was a lovely experience.

We booked for our friends 70th and we’re so glad we did. Great place, great food and great service. We had to wait a while for my friends Apple tart as it was cooked fresh so we all got free coffee.
The ladies toilets are a sight to behold. We had fun taking photos. The decor is fab. Great afternoon all around.

I’m coeliac so looked at web page before going with friends for lunch all of whom love the ivy personally the choice for myself was dreadful none available ended up with dry chicken soggy chips tasteless quite slow service and to add insult to a disappointing meal I ordered separately a bottle of champagne paid so as to keep it off main bill to only then realise just before we left that they had added £16.25 service charge ! Fortunately the waitress sorted a refund for me we also took the service off our main bill as we were advised it doesn’t go to the staff we gave a cash tip which we trust she kept

I took my mum here for dinner tonight for her birthday, and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely our evening was. They seem to have a couple of new vegan options on the menu, which was great to see! The one I chose was out, but was really pleased that I was immediately offered a couple of other options that sounded great, and the one I chose was delicious! And mum really enjoyed the lobster. The person who served us (Katie?) could not have done a better job. She was really great and made the evening, in spite of how busy the place was. Would definitely go back!
