Had a Sunday roast here at the weekend at is was up there with the best.
The pork was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! Roast potatoes were crisp, salty goodness. The veg (cauliflower cheese, roasted carrots, greens, sweet potato purée) were all just as you’d want them. Great big fluffy Yorkshire - good stuff. And the gravy was thin but it packed a flavour punch and was served in a good quantity! If I could change one thing it would have been to swap out the purée for extra apple sauce, but that’s personal preference!
My partner and friend were equally impressed with the vegetarian roast, however they were both slightly unsure of the veggie gravy which was orange, potentially carrot or sweet potato based. It was tasty - just unexpected.
The sticky toffee pudding was really moist and flavourful! Personally I like it with a little less toffee sauce, or for it to be in a jug, but it didn’t stop us eating it all.
Will definitely be back.
Eton Mess
Brilliant food: came down from London and had one of the best pub meals for a long time, and on a Monday lunchtime.
Perfectly cooked cod, homemade bread, brilliant fresh parfait. Really excellent.

What a great local pub! Situated between two of Brightons great parks (Preston and Blakers) is the PPT a fabulous gastro boozer.
A solid range of beers on tap + a menu which a fine dining restaurant would be proud of.
For our Saturday lunch we opted with the cod and the chicken, and they did not disappoint! Highly recommend.

I was just passing with the dog and thought I’d pop in for quick lunch (on a Tuesday midday) and I have to say I’m so glad I did. This is a fantastic pub with a large multi level garden, very dog friendly. Staff are so welcoming and friendly. Great choice of beers and the “Nourish Bowl” with chicken was unexpectedly delicious! (I say “unexpectedly” because I’m trying to eat more healthily and often that means taking the disappointing option… but not today!). I will definitely be back!

Lovely local gastropub punching wells above its weight for food! Friendly service and relaxed laid back vibe. Recommend!

I am visiting from Canada and my family recommended this restaurant...
The bloody Mary's were super good.
I ordered a steak, cooked to perfection... I would recommend having it without the garlic butter on top since it added a salty taste to it, that I wasn't to keen on. French fries were great, very thick and cooked to perfection.
I ordered the mozzarella, tomatoe, basil starter plate, it was a little bland, would of preferred fresh basil instead of the basil/pesto drissel they put on it. Great portion size.
We also ordered the 'fried beef/ tartar appetizer. Amazing!!!!!!
My family got the cod and said it was excellent.
Also a shout out to Abbie for her kindness and excellent customer service.
Also Faye, thanks so much for your help. You two seem like a great team.
Will definitely be back.
Also sticky toffee pudding for the win!

Early Thursday evening the pub was already humming. However, there were a few tables free so we sat in the corner. Unfortunately there was a table of about 6 women by the window who were obviously celebrating so the noise levels got louder and louder. We ordered our drinks and food at the bar and service was quick and easy. I had hake and prawn risotto which was exceptional and my friend had fish and chips which was not quite as good. The fish was small and the mushy peas very watery and tasteless. There was a good selection of very nice wines on offer. I had a very nice Squealing Pig Sauvignon Blanc for £6.65 and my friend had a G&T for £7. Not too expensive and we had a very nice meal although somewhat ruined by the noisy atmosphere which I suppose is only to be expected in a Brighton pub! The meal with drinks was £50 for two.

Pleasant pub, good range of beers - not so much choice of cask beer the day we visited. Can't vouch for the food but by all accounts it's good. Staff were great. Recommended for a local pub.

My favourite local pub. Definitely the best food. Great place.

Beautiful spot for a bowl of chips and a pint.
Very dog friendly as there were more people with dogs here than there were without.
Staff were all really friendly and the chips were great.
Top marks to all who work there

First visit to this pub. Surprised at how big it was. Pleasant decor. Roast dinners were lovely -hot, and good portion. One not so good point, is that they don't sell 'proper' beer, only lagers and IPA's; not even bottles of beer, for those who prefer them.
Lavender Theatre
Our favourite local!! Food is beyond delicious and has you dreaming of revisiting … and we do, again and again! We eat out a lot… And some high ranking restaurants do not meet the calibre of the food served here. Highly recommend with knobs on! Only negative … seating on the left of the front door in front of the kitchen hatch, there needs to be a shield/shade to shield you from the ‘Wembley stadium lights’ from the kitchen pass. It would make this end of the pub like the rest of it…soft ambient lighting.

Great food and one of the best people behind a bar I have ever met: the only person EVER to put ice in beer glasses to cool them down after they came out of the dishwasher before pouring beer. Class. She is a star. Give her a pay rise.

PPT has seriously upped its game from great to excellent! Thoroughly recommend trying a midweek meal here.

Smashing service, delicious food, mulled wine and a warm welcome. Dog friendly. What more do you need? Haven't tried Sunday lunch yet but believe it's excellent. A real community pub.

Pop in with my friends after a Jiu jitso competition and We were starving, great Gastro Pub and the beer was beautifully cold.

Had a really lovely afternoon here. The pub was warm and friendly and the roast was one of the best I've had in Brighton recently! Would recommend and will definitely be back.

The pub is a gem nice outdoor seating and private garden. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The food menu is very good and the chef is amazing the plates of food have so much flavour and are well balanced. Will be back soon.
Stuart Mckenna
Almost certainly the best pub in Brighton. Just great food, service and ales...

Just had 3 superb roast dinners. Pork was fabulous, really crispy crackling, loads of veg and big fluffy yorkshires. Lamb & Beef also tasty. Deserts were sublime. Poached pear and sticky toffee puds to die for. Best roast we've had for ages. Highly recommended.

What a frakin` dump
....after months of waiting for this old pub to open again after the previous owner did a runner....it is very sad to find that it has turned itself back into the old kind of pub that we had here years ago.
It is a retro step that has shown that the new owners dont understand what has happened here over the years.....we`ve all moved on...but the PPT has gone backwards
The food is mediocre....but highly priced(you can eat better food than this at The Grand Hotel.. for less)
Verdict = Back street quality & atmosphere at west end prices

It is shut at the moment but I am hoping for a pub with some really good ales and well cooked, interesting pub food and with the music sound level low enough for me not to have to shout. Then I will love it.
Adam Francis
Best roast dinner around, lovely staff and very good service
