Loved this place, especially the staff, who efficiently dealt with a customer who took a swing at a customer because they had spoken above the music.
Sorry, but this is NOT a concert venue.
In pubs we do not expect talk to stop. This is a great, social pub where talk is de rigeur, and at a volume to be heard above background music.

Don’t think twice and just step in. We only had one night in Brighton, so we went there on a Sunday, there was live music, the greatest staff, and customers were all… fitting: chatty, joking, all we love. We understand there are a lot of different events and had we stayed longer in Brighton, there’s no doubt we’d have been there every night. We can only recommend, not just a pub: a unique moment. Thank guys, hopefully we’ll be back ☺️

So popped in for the Monday open mic night , we were getting "Down wit da Kids" 🎸😎🎸. Which we thought was excellent night of music , and the good news non of that old Elvis Bollockks stuff.
Alls good, we shall hopefully return, as the oldest of the bunch

The most welcoming little bar in all of Brighton, with a local clientele and terrific friendly fun service. Indoor and outdoor seating with everything you could need to spend hours in the sun tanning it right up or chilling inside or out the back in the garden... And how good is the music!!!Thanks for a wonderful time guys, see you soon!

First time in this pub. Our friend did a gig, and the bar staff were good in putting up with our singing and dancing all night. Thank you x

Visit was pre-COVID. Nice, friendly pub. Had a half pint of Sussex Best Bitter. They had the front doors open and the weather was not very pleasant so jackets never came off.

Fantastic pub. Traditional as you like, good beer and great craic. Perfect.

Hi Lilly,
We're saddened to hear you felt discriminated against. That is not how we run our pub as we always aim to be inclusive and respectful of everybody.
Unfortunately, we do have CCTV footage of your group bringing outside drinks into the establishment, which we asked you not to drink on-site (only to be ignored).
If that was the only issue, however, we would not have asked you to leave.
Our alcohol-free options are extensive and not limited to only orange or tomato juice.
One of your party did throw up on the table, which was a shame, but it wouldn't have been a reason to kick you out if they weren't laying face first on it.
We asked you to leave for the two reasons stated above, as they're breaches of both our licensing objectives and our duty of care as an establishment.
We'd hoped this would be it. Not more than 5 minutes later we then see one of you, once again on CCTV, sticking what we later identified as a soiled sanitary pad on one of our windows.
We do believe the costumers is always right, but sadly, that's not the case this time.
You're welcome to come in and discuss this with us further, if you wish to do so.
Kind Regards,
Sarah Nixon

I arrived in a bit of a panic trying to find a place that had wifi where I could work for a few hours (and do an interview) and Sarah-Jane (I think the manager) was super helpful. I ended up staying all afternoon and had a couple of drinks after.
It's a lovely, cosy, local feeling pub and the prices are really reasonable for Brighton.
Thank you for all the local recommendations and fantastic service. I will absolutely be coming back!

Only popped in for quick drink, was quiet and staff seemed lovely. But not much atmosphere during the day as expected

One of the best places to stop for a drink on Brighton!
(Oh and ask about the home made chocolate vodka for a little hidden treat!!)

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly service. Had the feel of a local pub and really enjoyed it. What would improve it for me would be to have some keg draught craft ales on offer. They had cask, which is not for me and had Hop House, which I like. But keg craft ales would be much more for my palate. Loved the music they were playing on the Sunday afternoon.

One of the best pubs in Brighton. Always a great atmosphere and crowd in there.

The people, the drinks and the staff makes this gem a must

Top pub, Top live music, Top staff ... Pretty 'top' to be fair!!!
Andrew Goodall
This is a friendly, traditional pub. The clientel are very mixed, gay, straight, indeterminate etc. (typical Brighton) and all find a warm welcome. There is a selection of real ales but pub food is not on offer.
Brendan Hargie
The nicest people you could meet. If your after a cheeky beer or a place to sit and reflect on your day come here!

Was there yesterday and has a nice vibe. Having said that the staff were a bit over familiar considering I’ve never met them before
Chris Connell
Really friendly staff - seems like a local pub with many regulars. Cosy interior too.
