As others have said, you have a choice between Whitelock’s and The Turk’s Head, especially when the former is crowded. The latter being the high end spot, it’s the desired place for a meal or a quieter pint. Both have an amazing vibe, inside and out, and aren’t easy to find, being at the end of a narrow alley. Great ale options as well as draft (lager) options. Food menu is top notch, leaning towards upscale. Even though the vibe and the staff are pretty chill, the food is next level. Super fresh fish. Super fresh beer. A couple great spots!
A great old traditional pub. What a fun old place! I got the ploughman's board, consisting of meat, cheese, bread, spread, and a pork pie. Mom had the fish and chips. Both were pretty amazing! The bathroom was old and great too
Glad I made a reservation. It wasn't full when I arrived but the restaurant part of the pub filled up pretty quick.
I enjoyed the black pudding scotch egg and steak and ale pie. Service was quick too.
Only complaint I had was I wished it was a bit brighter inside. Thankfully phone cameras are a minor miracle of science so I got some pictures of the food.
