Well - found this bar on Saturday night and it was brilliant very lively and everything you’d imagine from an Irish bar! Decided to go again on Sunday as they had live music - so our group of 9 thought we’d have a fun afternoon/evening in there.
Music was great but to our amazement we were told that we were unable to use our tambourine as (and I quote) “it was annoying and too loud.”
The musicians and other customers didn’t mind - just one member of staff! As we were unable to turn the sound down on the tambourine we decided to go and shake it elsewhere! Such a shame as was a good bar. Who knew that an Irish Bar would be so strict on how much you can enjoy yourself!

Well what can i say this place was amazing.. we came as a group of 5 from a different town far far away over the hills, and let me tell you we were treated like kings. I personally have never felt more welcome. I honestly recommend it to everyone. Let me break it down for you all so you can see just how good a time we had. We spent a huge amount of the day in here.. im talking like 11 minutes, 9 and three quarter minutes of these 11 were standing at a bar front waiting to be served only to be ignored and new comers being dealt with first.. i mean granted people were dressed up in various things/costumes.. although i fail to remember us 5 going as ghosts, can only see this being part of the practical joke... anyhow at the end of the 11th minute one of the group stepped forward... welcome all to Mr StronglyWorded Email. He tried his hardest but arguing against a completely rotted plank of wood just was a battle he was never going to win. Somehow this plank did mutter the words your barred and we all left with a huge satisfaction of finding the best pub in newcastle... strongly recommended venue this enjoy if you dare.

It was a great Irish pub and we enjoyed the Easter Sunday with a great crowd and live music.
Except some crazy fight later in the evening 🤣. The bouncers were doing a great job managing the reckless behaviours.

Really enjoyed this Katie's. It's much better than its sister pub in Durham. Live music, great atmosphere, quick service. What's not to like?!

First timer, was a great place for a chilled one with one of my mates. Love the aesthetics inside, Irish green with a banging guiness. Thank you!

Great night but the service was terrible. They had 4 staff on serving in a bar packed on a Saturday night. But the music and atmosphere was good regardless just employ more staff
