Have walked to this pub many times since moving to Bishops Waltham 2 years ago. Staff are very friendly and have made us feel at home on every visit. Have eaten here a as a couple & with friends and the food is always good, especially Sunday lunch. On our latest visit there was a pop up kitchen and we thoroughly enjoyed our Tapas, which was excellent value, the Banana Brioche pudding was delicious. It has become our go to local even though it's a 2 mile walk from home.
Went for a walk on Saturday afternoon and came across this place, but we had read good things about it. What a great, proper old pub this is. Bar staff so genuine and nice. A few locals with their dogs sitting at the bar, and a couple of table occupied. Garden looked lovely in the sun. It dimly lit which is nice with candles lit on all the tables. We didn't need to eat but menu looked amazing. Will defo return for a date night.
We stopped quite late for lunch but the owners were very happy to make food up for us, including 2 half size fish and chips as we're not big eaters. My friend was extremely happy to find quality cider for sale, and the beer was pretty darn good too. 👍
