Excellent restaurant located within IKEA, serving a variety of tasty dishes at affordable prices, with a pleasant atmosphere.
As a regular customer here, I am slightly biased. Nevertheless, this IKEA restaurant is excellent in my opinion for a number of reasons. The opening hours are excellent, open early until late daily (please check IKEA website for latest hours) and with great facilities. The toilets are always clean, there is plenty of seating and the layout of the restaurant is easy to navigate.
I've visited for a number of years and most of my visits have been great (with the odd one or two suffering from stock problems/availability). The staff in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful and there are enough of them, to ensure speedy service and a clean dining area.
The menu is varied and the offers they do are exceptional, with special deals currently at breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is something for all of the family. They also offer healthy options for those with children and currently free baby food with the purchase of an adult meal. The drink area is pleasant, accessible and easy to use (self-service) and the free IKEA family tea or coffee deal is fabulous.
I highly recommend this location for everything from a drink, to a light-bite, through to a full family dinner. It has something on the menu for everyone and caters for all ages, I admire this. Great service and work from the IKEA Southampton Restaurant team, they recently have had a refit and it is a bit easier to get condiments now.
The photos on this review are on the recently passed Swedish Meatball Day! I visited and was pleased to get a 12 plant ball meal for only £2.75! Be inspired and come to visit this restaurant, I guarantee satisfaction! You might even bump into a bear along the way...
I’ve eaten here on several occasions and always been happy. Staff are friendly and the food is tasty. Of course, it’s all about the meatballs here! Staff do a great job of keeping the place clean and tidy and there’s always ample seating. Of course IKEA won’t be winning any Michelin stars but it’s good honest food at a reasonable price!
Not only the best place for meatballs but there are plenty more healthy and tasty options. Don't forget your family card that will give you discount against certain dishes and during weekday also free coffee.
The restaurant in the Southampton branch is on the top floor with the waterside view to the Solent. The restaurant also offers a good view of the cruise liners on the days when they are docked.
Super food, Swedish excellence on display. Bacon roll followed by meatballs and a Daim cake and minimal damage to the wallet. Busy but for the right reasons. Well done IKEA and Ingvar Kamprad. 🐧

Great plant balls, free coffee midweek. The restaurant has views over the harbour of liners etc. Great deals.

What you may call ‘cheap and dirty’. Definitely the cheapest restaurant in Southampton, although it’s not a proper restaurant of course, but a simple socialist-style canteen. Everything is cheap. Food is all right, quite tasty Swedish meatballs, mash potatoes, chips, cheesecakes, good salmon and salads. Splendid cinnamon buns. ‘Restaurant’ is VERY roomy and has fascinating views over Southampton port and cruise terminals, so you can see many cruise ships from huge windows. And very close too. Access to the restaurant from 4th floor through the main entrance (very top) and then shortcut through furniture department. Yes I can recommend it, though you need to book your slot first via scanning IKEA QR code or online on IKEA website.
