First time visiting this theatre last night to see The Shadow Factory. As a theatre, the venue was great - the auditorium was well designed and the seats were comfy and had plenty of legroom, however due to the design of the seating, if someone keeps moving around in their seat, two or three people either side are also affected.
The biggest disappointment was the service in the bar/cafe Tyrell’s - stood waiting for ages to be served whilst two staff served NST staff and only one person was delivering food. The coffee was good once I got it though.
Great new building and amazing performance of The Shadow Factories. Seats are quite uncomfortable for long performances. Staff are amazing and friendly.
This is a fantastic new theatre here in Southampton, a great addition to the city's culture experience. I have see several plays there, good spacious auditorium and clear acoustics. 2020 has some up coming not to be missed productions, can't wait. Really nice bar and snack area too. City parking is good with west quay a short walk on the high street. Thoroughly recommended.
Great theatre and if you don't drive very convenient. But if you intend to drive to see something, and you don't really know the area, do some homework. No parking at the theatre and it can be tricky to find any.
But it's big, clean and the seats are comfortable. As far as we could tell it didn't look like it had any pour visability seats, it shouldn't as a new build.
The toilets are clean but I wish they had put more women's toilets in, it would have been a great opportunity.
Big bar, prices as you would expect, plenty of seats and I found it relaxing enough. Staff were bright and helpful throughout the building.
All in all a good venue but next time I will come by train (a 10 min walk)
It's difficult to give a proper rating for a theatre like this, as the most memorable part of the visit is the show and the cast.
However, seats are comfortable and in good condition. The bar and seating area are clean. The female and disabled toilets were in a less than desirable condition when we went just before the show. This, though, is down to the inconsiderate people who can't use a toilet.
It was a great afternoon!
It is a great theatre in a great location.
Really nice auditorium with a great view from everywhere and really comfy seats, as well as a nice bar area for the interval.
All the shows I've seen there have been great, and the adaptable stage means they can create great effects.
Great location opposite Guildhall Square surrounded by bars and restaurants. Very vibrant, buzzing atmosphere.
I went there for the first time the other day as a birthday treat with a friend to see 'Don Carlos'. We had comfortable seats and reasonably priced drinks in a warm, well-lit bar that you can reach either by stars or lift.
My one quibble is that the taps in the bathroom didn't seem to be working. Please could that be sorted?
Would love to go there again.
Modern, clean and welcoming.
Plenty of good shows and a really chilled bar at top. Location wise is great and definitely helped to improve the area.
Prices for shows are great, surprisingly cheap with plenty of deals.
Always been a fan of the Nuffeild, a great company for the city

Me and my daughter both had the pleasure of attending " THE BIG PRESENT" The cast were brilliant. The building itself is lovely and has a lovely bar and waiting area. I would definitely go again, especially at such good prices.
This is a great central venue with a decent sized theatre showing a wonderful variety of productions. The programme changes regularly and contains some short runs so check regularly to avoid missing out.
There is a pleasant in house bar and restaurant but the surrounding area has a good choice too.
Also worth checking the university campus venue too.
