Welcoming staff, great food, and a very homely atmosphere around the whole of the pub! Would highly recommend The Wenlock Arms to anyone, whether it be just them passing through for a bite to eat or an evening meal.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch after previously visiting several times for quick drinks. We thought we'd get basic pub grub, but our expectations were more than exceeded! My husband ordered a rump steak, whereas I ordered the stuffed chicken breast wrapped in parma ham (which I heartily recommend.) Both dishes were absolutely delicious and came fairly quickly. Our server was sweet and attentive and all the bar staff were very friendly. We will definitely be returning soon!

Had a lovely meal with friends. I'm one of those slightly awkward folk that needs the odd tweak with meals & The team in The Wenlock were extremely accommodating, no issues, the service was fantastic & the food was wonderful. It was a warm evening & we sat inside to eat, it was very quiet inside so once we'd finished our meals we went in the beer garden which was buzzing with people enjoying the sunshine & the pubs refreshments. Fabulous evening had by all.

A little bit of a drive for us but well worth it. The food was lovely, price was reasonable and the staff were really welcoming. Thanks a lot, if I'm around the area again, I'll be back.

We was booked in at the pub for 2pm on Sunday 11th June for the carvery as we we're staying locally for a couple of nights. Unfortunately my husband was suffering really badly with hay fever and couldn't go so I rang to explain and cancel. We then decided to ask if I could pick it up as a takeaway and they said yes. I'm really glad we did it was fantastic everything cooked perfect and it was packed up in boxes and was piping hot. The staff were very friendly and helpful and hopefully in the near future when we come back to stay we will get to have our next carvery in the pub 😀 thank you everyone x Diane Harris

Nice village pub with plenty of space. Food is nice and reasonably priced. It might not be as cheap as Toby Carvery but you don’t have to mingle with pond life!

Been to The Wenlock Arms several times.over the last two years.guaranteed good food and beers.last there on the 15/6/17.four adults .we each had a starter.main meal.one sweet.drinks for four.94 pound.good service friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend a visit.

In the 6 months I've lived in York I've tried 90% of the pubs and restaurants and The Wenlock is my favourite. The food is incredible and the staff are the best I've met so far. I absolutely love this pub. You must pay it a visit. Love Dan the Bricky. 😘😘😘😍😍😍👍👍👍 Xxx

What a gem of a place. The rear garden is AMAZING, so cosy, feels like your abroad on a sunny day. Staff are REALLY nice and approachable. Made us feel very welcome
