The room was decorated lovely, very clean and spacious. The location is very perfect as it’s close to a lot of places. Clear communication with Nick, no issues at all, they even send an email when you book with a ton of recommendations of places to eat and activities which was really appreciated as we visited a few. Overall, a fantastic stay at the The Whitehouse in Windermere!

I had a lot of fun at Windermere, and what increased my enjoyment was staying in this apartment. It made me feel like I was at home. It was very clean and the smell of the place was beautiful. And the most beautiful thing is its very excellent location. The hotel owners do not neglect to provide everything that makes the stay special, from providing information about the places of events around the lake and from... Taxi numbers, and recommendations for special restaurants. Thank you for making my stay in Windermere unforgettable ❤️.

Lovely little hotel - rooms are cosy and decorated modernly, beds are really comfy. Great location for a great price too, with it being a 2 minute walk to the lake front and right in the middle of Windermere, with a short walk to restaurants, shops and tourist locations.

Excellent location and seamless check-in process. Nice little room straight off the road. Little cold as heating locked down, but cozy bed

Easy self check in. Fantastic location for Bowness. Carpark is handy as can go through back exit to the property. Room 8 very nicely decorated and comfy bed. A bit noisy late at night from pub behind. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed recently for a night as part of our honeymoon. The location is amazing as so close to central Bowness and the nearby public car park allows multi-night stays.
The room was beautiful, nice decor, massive wetroom with lovely shower. King sized bed was comfortable and the radio being on when we checked in gave it a homely feel.
Would happily return and stay longer

Just enjoyed a truly wonderful stay in Room 12.
Decor, just beautiful.
Bed, sooo comfortable!
Location, super central.
Communication throughout, great.
Loved the little details and touches too, including fresh milk in the fridge and, a bottle of Prosecco on arrival.
Would definitely recommend The White House and would love to return sometime.

Very happy we booked the white house for our stay in windermere. Super location, very close to the lake, restaurants and car park. Clean room, with a kettle, fridge and iron. A safe place to stay. Only issue was the toilet did not flush properly.

We had a beautiful stay in Room 12 this weekend and was so pleased with it!
Access to the room was so easy and secure. The room itself is absolutely stunning. The decor was the perfect cosy spot for a weekend away. They had everything you could need and impressively clean.
The location couldn’t be any better. You are quite literally in the centre of everything, yet you don’t feel all the hustle and bustle of outside though which is great. The owners sent us a list of places we could eat and drink which was an amazing idea! It took all the effort away of searching for somewhere.
Will definitely be returning!

Me and my fiancée stayed at the White House for 2 nights. Perfect location in the heart of Bowness. Although no parking at the hotel, the public car park is a short walk away and reasonably priced.
Arriving around 7pm after a long drive, I struggled to find the room, I was room 12 but for some reason I thought it said 15 on the email, I called the number on the email and was answered immediately and directed to my room, thanks for that. Room easily accessed by the code sent on the email over a week before check in.
Once inside the room, it was finished to a high standard and felt very modern and comfortable, the grade 2 listed building still has its features, such as the interior stone wall which was a nice touch. The bathroom was spacious, however not much storage for toiletries but we made it work. Also, a lack of storage for clothes, there is a clothes rail with hangers, but if you pack like my fiancée, expect to leave most in your case. The copper bath is a great addition to the bathroom, and is large enough to lounge around in if that’s your thing, made even better with a bottle of complimentary Prosecco, I am guessing this is the reason for plastic Prosecco glasses, as they can be used in the tub with minimal risk of injury!
Also on arrival there is fresh milk in the fridge, chilled water, tea, coffee and biscuits. I’m sure I saw hot chocolate as well.
On the first night after going out for dinner and drinks we got back late, the room felt cold, I tried to alter the thermostat and it was locked. I put it off until the morning at which point I could not tolerate being cold any longer. I contacted nick/Grant and was granted access to the thermostat. This was perfect as I got the room to a comfortable temperature. I also mentioned I couldn’t get my towels dry, Nick and Grant gave me directions on how to control the towel rail in the bathroom, however, it didn’t seem to work, so I was offered fresh towels. I didn’t take them up on this but it’s nice to know I could have if required, nothing was too much trouble when I contacted them. Also note in the toilet which is a small room, there is no radiator, with the extractor in the ceiling this room gets extremely cold.
Next door, room 11 I believe , the door noise is very noticeable when they are entering and leaving, but other than that the room was quiet, no exterior noise or traffic noise and we had a good sleep both nights.
Bars, restaurants, fast food, and supermarkets are all within walking distance, it is literally central to everything you will require. The Windermere cruises are roughly a 5-10 minute walk, meaning you can leave your car and access other nearby towns or points of interest with ease.
We will definitely recommend this hotel, although it does have some minor negatives, it has many many positives and if we return to Bowness it will be at the top of our list, thanks for having us Nick/Grant.
