La Mezzaluna

I had a straightforward Veg and Rice risotto, which was quite simply delicious. It was early evening, and fairly quiet. As a singleton in Carlisle on business, this suited me. I don't usually tip much, but on this occasion the meal was just over a tenner and I left five quid. Next time I'm in the city, I shall definitely return.

Food was absolutely wonderful and service was fast, efficient and very friendly. Only fault would be perhaps service was a little too fast and hectic. We were seated, and had 2 courses, paid and left within 45 minutes. Felt a bit like we were being rushed, but perhaps it was just the super speedy chefs at work in the back 😅 We must've been asked by 3 different waitresses what we would like to order after asking the first for 5 extra minutes to decide; but cannot fault the attentiveness of the staff. You needed something and they were there in seconds! It would've been nice to have had a little more time between our starter and main to sit and chat, and let everything go down first. We ended up boxing half our mains to go as we couldn't finish it all.

Terrific. Food was excellent. Service was splendid. Nice, clean, relaxing surroundings. I'm not enjoying the best of health at the moment and we (from Lancaster) had arranged to meet my brother and his wife (from Dumfries) in Carlisle for some lunch (and a few refreshments!). The restaurant was recommended to us by our English cousin, who comes from, and lives, Carlisle. Excellent recommendation.

Nice, warm and lovely place. Already have been in there a couple of times but never had the chance to take some pictures and to write a review. The food was always good and never had any issues, the staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are decent for food and drinks. We’ll definitely revisit the place at some point.
