We enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal at the Red Lion yesterday! The Jamaican menu offered dishes that we had never tried before, cooked fresh and as hot or mild as requested. The children were well looked after with a varied menu including a Caribbean curry. I would highly recommend choosing a few starters to create a sharing platter, add dumplings from the side order menu too as they were lovely with the dips! The service wasn’t particularly fast but felt pleasantly relaxed. A great place for a chilled out, high quality meal.

Found this hidden gem, on the way to Wyre Forest, coming from London. What caught our eye first was the sign outside mentioning authentic Caribbean food. Of course Caribbean restaurants are a dime a dozen in London, but a rarity in the middle of the countryside. We made a note later to return after our trip and glad we did. The Caribbean elements of the menu were amazing. The chef had put her own twist of some of the traditional Caribbean dishes and I have to say, I have never tasted anything like it. Her fried dumplings are a must have, the almost look like fried chicken, but are fluffy and packed with flavour. The curry goat, was succulent and tender and I was surprise the chef could offer a choice on the array of heat you wanted from the curry. Staff and chef, we're very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Great food, service and atmosphere. The garden area is also beautiful. A must visit!

This place was an unexpectedly good little find. The food was fantastic, with a good range of traditional and Caribbean dishes. All plates were cleared, even my kid's, who can be a bit fussy! Another bonus was a big enclosed area put the back where the children could run around and play safely. The staff were also brilliant. We were greeted by the owner and served by his daughter - it's great to see such a good family fun business. This is just down the road from Witley Court which we often visit. We will definitely be calling in again!

My family and I were amazed with this place. The landlord was so welcoming. He was so friendly and couldn't do enough but never intrusive. We chose the Caribbean menu and the food was amazing. I live in London and have been to some of the best afro Caribbean restaurants and have had lots of home cooked carribean food and this was the best I have ever had. The flavours were incredible and you could request the level of spice specific to each person. Cannot recommend enough!

A rather unexpected Sunday lunch. The place looked rather quiet and we expected the usual pub menu but found a few surprises on it. Tried them and well worth it. the Chef has a Jamaican background and that is reflected in her culinary exploits which were very tasty and at a fair price. The service from the hotelier and the waiter was first class. At this time of year, daffodils and other spring flowers abound so the fabric flowers on each table did not match the overall service.

Had the prawn linguine. Absolutely beautiful. Compliments to the chef. Family run which makes it feel homely and comfortable in its environment. The staff are so accommodating and polite. Really have enjoyed our visit and food here.

The food and quality of service of this quaint family pub is above and beyond expectation. We arrived unannounced as a party of 9 adults and 4 children, upon arrival we was greeted by the owner in a warm and friendly way. Once we were seated and organised we browsed the menu which had many mouth watering options for us to choose from. As we were a large party and had several orders the owner offered to take the kids order first and get it cook early so they were not waiting too long, once all orders had been placed the food started to be delivered to our tables in a timely manner and it was exceptional. The food was all fresh cooked and made with real passion, I had the jerk chicken (pictured below) and a special request order of holumi fries which the chef kindly made especially for me (these should be on the menu as a starter, they are amazing). After the main course many of us ordered dessert which was also amazing. All in all the experience, quality of service and the food was really exceptional and I will absolutely be returning in the future. My compliments to the chef and the owner.

Wow! When I go out for a meal being quite fussy meaning I like really good tasty food, I usually find myself disappointed. The only other place I have been to like this is a turtle bay restaurant and I was quite disappointed as I expected huge flavours. Well when my goat curry came out I was anything but disappointed. I had it medium spiced and it was perfect and loaded with perfectly balanced flavours. Possibly the best curry I've had. And it being served with plantain was great as I never would have chosen it myself but it was lovely. Also the dumplings were far beyond any I've ever had before. Well done to the chef, I was one very happy customer. And thankyou.
