Soyokaze Japanese Restaurant

Myself and my husband came here for my birthday and it did not disappoint! It was our first time visiting this restaurant and the service and food did not fail to impress. The food was fresh and served hot and service was very quick. Being lovers of the Japanese cuisine, all the food we had (seafood tempura, takoyaki, Tonkotsu ramen and unagi donburi) were faultless and unbelievably delicious. I had ordered the ramen and the broth was absolutely drool worthy and having tried my husband’s meal, the eel literally melted in your mouth. I really really recommend this place if you like this type of food. We will 100% visit here again.

Had the BEST lunch here today. The service was great- really friendly waitresses who were happy to recommend their favourites, accompanied by a really chill atmosphere. The food was incredible- I had the chicken gyozas followed by the spicy salmon teriyaki, which came with a miso starter, and rice and salad on the side. Really filling and great value for money. I can’t wait to come back!

This place is a Norwich treasure. A superb slice of authentic Japan through familiar and accessible food. I eat here regularly for lunch. The chef(s) are trained in Japan, or at least in the traditional manner and produce reliably high quality food from what are clearly superior ingredients. I have had Japanese food my whole life and lived in Japan, so finding a place like this was brilliant, but a total newbie or nervous eater would have no problem here. It is the sort of restaurant that would draw a huge following in the middle of any big global city. The price is correct for the years of training, location, and quality of produce. The proof is the quality of the food.

Authentic Japanese food They’re not offering any sushi anymore but some extra vegetarian options have been added to the menu. Highly recommend the Teriyaki tofu steak. Soft silken tofu coated in crispy skin. Perfect with the teriyaki sauce. The stir-fry vegetables are the extra plus so you don’t have to order a vegetable side. Friendly staff and comfortable environment with Japanese decor.

Amazing gem of a place. The food was delicious and would highly recommend the ramen. Great variety of dishes and sushi. The sake was lovely too. Staff super friendly and the whole atmosphere was perfect. Update: been again for lunch and it was also amazing. Had the pork katsu which came with mizo and rice. So so nice. The pork was tender and delicious. Had a lovely pot of green tea with it
