Very nice tea and dessert 🍮 Love the famous fat rascal, and strawberry macaroon, vanilla cake & Yorkshire curd tart were all good 👍 No wonder it’s one of the best and most famous tea rooms in the U.K.

In-store afternoon tea is not in service yet due to Covid-19. Had to take away - very friendly and patient service. And LOVELY scone!

Best fish & chips so far (at least for me). I highly recommended this menu.
Also, you must try an afternoon tea set, their tea + scone + sandwiches are awesome.
Please come in advance because you may have to wait for a queue.

A visit to York wouldn't be complete without a trip to Bettys! Lovely food, attentive service and reasonable prices too. We had the festive afternoon tea which was really tasty. Will be back again soon.

It was nice to experience 'afternoon tea'. By the looks of it it is fun for both locals and tourists. The scone was my favorite thing:)
Also, there was a vegetarian alternative for the sandwiches as well, if you'd want that.

We had dinner here a few times during visits to York. On our first visit the sandwiches were good and my husband had a nice vanilla slice. I made the wrong choice with the warm scone as it wasn’t what I was expecting it was too dry and brittle. But it was a nice spot for something to eat. Queuing on the stairs was difficult for me as I’m unstable on my feet and the stairs are uneven as it’s in an old house. Once you’re in the cafe it’s good. And the service was very good. On our second visit I had an eclair and my husband had a macaroon. They were very good.
