Stayed here from Tuesday to Thursday with my husband and our dog. Room ok could have been a bit bigger. But had a decent shower and tea and coffee facility in the room. Breakfast was really good lots of choice hot and cold. The only disadvantage was not many parking spaces and it is very steep to get to. But staff very friendly and courteous. Handy for walking down to get the Ricercruise to Ambleside.

We had a lovely two night stay at The Angel Inn. I've knocked a star off the room as we were in room 26 in the Annex (house across the road). The room itself was lovely, well-appointed and clean with a fabulous view of Windemere out the bay window. The downside was that it was right by the front door, which had a 4-digit keypad entry that loudly beeped with each button press so all you could hear all night was beeping as people went in and out. Drunk people forgot the code and smashed buttons for 30 min straight at one point. Then early risers started coming in and out at 5:30 am. It was obnoxious, and, as with many older buildings, the walls were thin enough to hear it as though it was in the room with us. They need to sort that out with a quiet entry method. Until then AVOID the rooms in the Annex near the entry. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Brilliant hotel in a great location with excellent staff and food. Just a one night stay in the main hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, room was small but perfect for our needs. Breakfast was excellent and catered for late arrival with no issues. Great value for the location and quality.

Spent a fantastic 4 days here last week with my partner and our dog. Absolutely amazing hotel and pub. The food at breakfast and dinner was lovely and loads of choices. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Very dog friendly and sell some lovely doggie snacks. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. The only recommendation would be to have some bathrobes available.
The location is great. Less than a minutes walk into the center and lake.
Would highly recommend staying here and would book again if ever back in the Lake District.

Just had a 2 night break and couldn't fault this lovely hotel. The staff are great and so friendly. The food is fabulous and the winter special deal is amazing value. You can't beat the location. We had a cosy double and was concerned it would just be a double bed but it was huge and so comfortable. The room was more than adequate and spotless. Somebody mentioned the room was cold, ours was that warm we had to open the window. They've got it right here and can't wait to have a break at one of their other hotels.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

The location is in city centre, really good location.
Breakfast great!!! Pub great, I like the local IPA, and the dinner was great as well.
Room OK, expect to have a slipper, but other things all perfect, recommend to stay here more than 2 nights.
I wish I could come again in the coming years.. I like the experience.
Ps: I know some people complain about food price here, I come from London so I think it’s ok. Please remember this is a tourism city, you need to pay for a premium I think.

Popped in for a bit of light lunch after a hike. It was bustling with life and dog friendly. Lovely rooms to sit in and a great atmosphere! The food was absolutely fantastic, and service was brilliant even through it was very busy. I would absolutely recommend and will be visiting again if I am in the area in the future.
