Read some reviews of this place online. I wanted to support an some independent business for an afternoon tea to celebrate their 70th birthday.
Dietary requirements were easily taken care off and the food looked stunning.
My friend and I had a very laid back afternoon tea and it was super filling.
Staff were young and friendly and were keen to assist.
Whilst slightly off the main track, it's a one walk from Bold Street.
The only negative thing is accessibility. Their are some very steep steps to this place.
All in all, an excellent experience and lovely memories.
Well worth a special treat.

Picture this: A weary traveler seeking refuge in the realm of caffeine and treats, I ventured into Cuthberts Cafe for their heralded 'afternoon tea' experience. And, by George, it felt like a mini Downton Abbey episode, sans the drama! Delicate sandwiches, pastries worthy of a Michelin-star and scones that might just start an international debate about jam vs. cream first. The staff even seemed to channel their inner Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes. If you ever wished to feel like British royalty without the tabloids trailing you, this is the spot. Cuthberts, you had me at 'Earl Grey'. Cheers!

Was there for an afternoon tea (jubilee afternoon tea to be more specific) the same day I wrote this comment. The place is on an off-beaten track, so if anybody wants to feel like a local, you should check it out. The place itself is very cute, the staff is very nice, and the afternoon tea was very lovely. I enjoyed every moment and every bite of it. Thank you very much for so lovely and delicious experience.

Amazing place, can't wait to come back. First time I've had afternoon tea and it was all delicious and fresh. They easily catered for the changes we wanted to make and other dietary requirements to with no trouble.

The de-facto place for afternoon tea in Liverpool. There are multiple different types you can get - the New York style one is fun, but I love the traditional one.
Staff are super helpful, and have a good balance between not attentive enough and overbearing.
The pasties that you can buy for takeout are delicious!

Delicious afternoon tea and kind staff! Went the extra mile by putting my veggie tea on a separate tower, which was a really nice detail. Absolutely worth a visit if you're on Liverpool.

Outer appearances don't look much but once you enter the staff are lovely, friendly and so helpful. The atmosphere is so cosy and relaxed. Food is gorgeous too.

Lovely cute little café. Had an amazing vegan swirl cake. And tried London breakfast tea with milk (they had plant based options).

This was our first and only tea. As Canadian tourists we were easily addicted. Improve the quality of your life at Cuthbert's. Thank you for serving us high tea without a reservation. My kids loved the fruity tea.

Went for afternoon tea. Mine was vegan and was extremely nice. When I have had vegan afternoon tea before I never get as many cakes as my mum, but here I got loads. Everything was tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely return and can recommend.

This was the best Afternoon Tea I've had!! It was inventive and had lots of little treasures, it wasn't a boring traditional one with a few crust cut off sorry sandwiches and a couple of boring cakes, they really went to town and had fun with it!! I'm vegan and felt so spoilt with the great food I was given and my fellow diners had the vegetarian and the classic and they both loved their Afternoon Teas as well. There were lots of loose teas to choose from to accompany the food and you can mix the teas, you don't have to stick with one, which I've had in the past with some places. They've also got wine, prosecco and cocktails or soft drinks. Lovely little place, nicely spread out with super friendly attentive staff. I recommend it fully.

Called in here for a cup of tea after my sisters graduation we started with tea but after looking at menu decided to stay for lunch. Lovely atmosphere, generous portions, great food. Our waitress said she had only been there a few weeks, she was great, attentive, friendly and helpful. Really nice place to visit would definitely visit again.

Went for afternoon tea for my 9-year old twin daughters....and there were 8 of us. We had a mixture of classic, vegetarian, New Yorker and the children's. They were all fabulous and delicious! Our servers were very attentive and looked after us brilliantly. It was a fantastic experience for all and I would thoroughly recommend this great place.

I stumbled across this place on Ubereats and im amazed with the quality of the food...this has got to be the best bakery i have been to for a long time. I got a ham and cheese toastie and a scone. The ham was thick quality cuts that looked like they had been carved directly from a ham roast joint...none of this watery processed stuff most places sell. Next the scone, was homebaked like i remember from when i was a kid and grandparents used to bake. And the jam...you could tell this was homemade quality jam. Top marks from me!

First time visit yesterday for Mother's Day afternoon tea. Small place but very nice and friendly staff. Sandwiches and cakes were very tasty. Gluten free option available which was good too! We had to ask for our tea, but, they were very busy yesterday. Cocktails with the afternoon tea were very nice too. Would visit again 😊

We went for my Mums 88th Birthday. The sandwiches and cakes were absolutely delicious. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend a visit.

My husband treated me yesterday to a surprise afternoon tea here. We had the New York afternoon tea and my daughter had the children's one. Both were fantastic. They were very accommodating even though it's only a small place and let us leave our pram behind their counter out of the way and the staff were lovely. Will definatly recommended and will be returning!

Had the most gorgeous mother’s day afternoon tea with my mum and daughter will be going back now regularly as we just loved it staff are all delightful too such a little treasure of a place 😍💘💘💘

My friend and I had the Festive Afternoon Tea yesterday. Everything was absolutely delicious but the showstopper was the Christmas Dinner Waffle. Fantastic! Eggnog Tart was the standout cake. The staff were exceptional and kept the tea flowing. Nothing was too much for them and even though it was really busy, we were not rushed which has happened at other places before. Can’t wait to visit again for my birthday.

Fabulous! We had the New York afternoon tea and it was so unique. Highly recommend. We are visiting from London.

We had the Valentine's High Tea, the food was the best afternoon tea I've ever had. The service is slow so it's not great if you're short on time but we weren't so had a lovely afternoon. Staff are very friendly even if a little forgetful! Place isn't the nicest but the food completely makes up for that x
