Exceptional food and service. Dinned here for dinner as a couple and their new menu is truly amazing. I couldn’t tell you what my favourite dishes were because both me and my partner enjoyed every dish and every bite. I really loved the little breads and butter to begin with and every plate after that was presented beautifully. The strawberry dessert topped everything off.
Highly recommend and would definitely be back.

Lovely evening in a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious. We had the fixed price menu and there was a good choice of dishes. Adam was our waiter and he was exceptional. Very professional & friendly. The only thing that could be improved would be to replace the dead flowers (which were on every table) with fresh ones!

Came here 25th October to celebrate my 60th birthday it was a total surprise and we entered into the warm friendly atmosphere and were greeted by happy, polite staff (Grace and Erin). Can not fault in any way, the food was prepared and served simply but classy and everything tasted amazing, the warm scones where just how my mum used to make them. We finished with a cocktail and chocolates to help celebrate my special day, thank you, we will be back to sample further things you have to offer.

One of my favourite afternoon tea spots in Liverpool. They offer a traditional afternoon tea which was SO tasty. I loved their sandwiches which included egg, cheese and onion, salmon and chicken. They had 2 types of scones.. fruited scone and plain served with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Also included in our visit was a free glass of Prosecco. I’d definitely return!

Beautiful location, great food, sadly lacking in friendly service and little atmosphere.

Lovely restaurant and good service.
Chef was good enough to let us order from bar menu as well as A la carte even though bar menu was supposed to finish at 17:00.
All food was good and I had the Sirloin steak which was cooked just right (medium).

We stayed at the School Lane sister hotel and with such a huge choice of restaurants in Liverpool, we chose this as our 'Fine Dining' night of our 3-night stay. We chose the fixed price menu and the food was 5 🌟 as was the service. Supreme of Chicken was cooked to perfection. Bread was served at no extra cost and the chicken butter was fab! No room for pudding! £120ish including service charge for 2 courses, amouse bouche, bottle of good red wine and a cocktail. Would recommend. Thank-you.

The cartridge works is always a lovely place to visit for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea. Especially if you’ve been to the philharmonic. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful.

Stylish plates, nice atmosphere. Service too slow for our expectations. You can give it a go once, but there are other similar places in Lpool worth trying too.

Excellent Hotel. Rooms are spacious and so clean. Massive bathroom.
No mini bar in our room but not needed as a one just below on the ground floor. Prices are fair and atmosphere is great. Friendly and polite staff. Will definitely be coming back here. No parking on premises but nearby parking available. Would recommend Liverpool cathedral as it’s attended with cameras everywhere. Closed car park available but not as secure.

Phenomenal food. Flavour, texture and temperature combinations you've never dreamed of put together on a plate of absolute genius.

My favourite restaurant in Liverpool. I have visited the Carriage Works many times and when ever I'm in town this is the place I like to go. It is classy, with high quality food and service.
The staff were very personable which makes the experience all the better for it.
It is a bit away from some of the main attractions but trust it is worth making the effort to get to.

Food was excellent, so we're all the staff, really nice place to go.

Starter: Smoked mackerel rillettes, dill emulsion, red onion soubise - this was delicious.
Main: Seabass - a filleted seabass with nice crispy skin. Served with a delicious crab chowder. The presentation of all the food is beautiful.
Staff: our waiter (I think his name was Adam) was brilliant. Polite, professional, very attentive, knowledgable of the menu, but also very friendly. He worked very hard all night to make sure we had a great experience.

We have only been here for a Christmas meal, but it was absolutely amazing and we can't wait for the end of the lockdown to go again. The service was great as well and I love the wine selection.

Lovely quirky place for afternoon tea. We came for a friend's birthday and staff couldnt have been more welcoming. Afternoon tea isn't my thing so it wasn't really good value for myself but fab cakes!

Situated in Liverpool's so called Cultural quater, London Carriageworks is a complete triumph of style over content. From the moment you step inside you realize no expense has been spared on creating an up-market dining environment. Sadly this ethos doesn't seen to have been extended into the kitchen. LCW has a serious case of delusions of grandure, from the near comic pretentious furnishings, to the aloof nature of the servers (you almost expect a credit & accent check at the door) LCW trades on a reputation it's food fails woefully to deliver. The food, for what it is, isn't bad per sé, and the presentation clearly has effort put into it. It's just a shame the actual cooking doesn't. At least not to the standard you expect given the premium prices being asked. I don't mind paying far over the odds in exchange for an excellent dining experience , but such an experience is what Carriageworks fails to deliver. £15 for a quite average fish & chips & nearly £30 for the smallest, & most over-cooked Sirloin I've ever seen (had a better steak in the old post office pub for a quater the price) quickly makes you realize that this place is a long way from the likes of Maze, Pied à Terre or Gordon Ramsay's Pétrus in far more than just geographic terms, even if it thinks it's playing in the same league. Given that you're not paying so much for quality, one is left with the distinct impression LCW hikes it's prices to keep "the riff-raff" out. Ironically "the riff-raff" are eating better & cheaper elsewhere.

Excellent food and service. Both my main and starter were top notch, with the lamb main being one of the best I have had EVER!

The London Carriage Work is an award winning restaurant by Chef Paul Askew who, The Times once described as a’ chef destined for the heights of Michelin’. This restaurant well renowned for the use of fresh and local produce and that definitely showed in the dishes we sampled – they even have a page on their website listing a few of these local suppliers. Seb and I rocked up at about 12 noon without a reservation and we were swiftly seated without any issues. The interiors of this re

For my starter, I selected the Roasted stuffed boneless ‘Catforth Lancashire’ quail with celeriac puree and a green apple and tarragon jus – the dish was beautifully presented and a testament to the skills of Chef Paul Askew and his London Carriage Works / Liverpool Community College team that they could produce food of this quality in their ‘field kitchen’.

Five boys and a girl, we've come together in Liverpool for the weekend. Flying, of course, would have bypassed the long and winding road. But I didn't take a plane or drive my car: I had a ticket to ride on the train. Heading north, I met another day-trip

There's no getting around the fact that outside London the restaurant scene in this country can be at the very least hit and miss. You can eat badly anywhere of course, it's just that you really start noticing the ratio of good to bad places dropping off dramatically the moment you leave the capital, and finding anywhere half decent in the regions requires a fair amount of research, a sprinking of good fortune and often a not insignificant budget. Liverpool is attempting to make things easier for the average food tourist by arranging all its good restaurants on one road - Hope Street - within minutes of each other, and with a farmer's market on the same stretch of tarmac on the third Sunday in every month. Worth checking out to anyone in this part of town are the Side Door ( reviewed back in July ), Ego, which is a small chain but is consistently decent and do lots of organic stuff, 60 Hope Street, a high-end bistro serving good local produce, and The London Carriage Works, which I vis
