Great place for a cup of tea, sandwich, soup, toastie or cake. Toastie came with a bit of fresh salad and coleslaw. Plentiful pot of tea and bone China cups. The lady serving was very pleasant too. Lovely little cafe.

Edinburgh Coffee Cake was like a home away from home for me while I was abroad in Scotland for five months. Gay and Sarah, the lovely women working there, are the nicest people I've ever met. They genuinely care about their customers and never failed to brighten my day. The cakes are amazing, the soup is fantastic, and not once was I disappointed by the food I got there. Also, the prices are very reasonable, meaning I could afford to have cake multiple times a week! I highly recommend Edinburgh Coffee Cake, it's definitely one of the best places in Edinburgh!

Love it cafe, tasty fresh made food, great prices and even have GF bread and great range of DF milk (including oat, soya, coconut and almond). Really friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and soothing music. Very quiet though so not somewhere I’d come for a chat, but great place to work or read a book.

I just went for a lovely porridge with honey & cinnamon which is part of a all day service.
Delicious and the ladies who run the cafe are lovely and friendly. Keep up the great work.

It’s open again!! I am so so happy my favourite wee cantine has reopened after the lockdowns. Amazing cakes, great all types of coffee, sit in or take away, safe with following the guidelines. I have had daily lunch and coffees there for years there, the owner is super kind and generous I could not recommend this cute place enough!

Lovely little cafe great for cakes (as the name suggests). They also offer an Afternoon Tea, although we did not try it.

Very nice place for homemade scones and cakes. Although they were supposed to close 6pm they let us come in and order passed 6pm. Very friendly staff and delicious cakes.

After I tried the Edinburgh Frost, I started going back each day to get it again. The baristas are so nice, and I just fell in love with that drink. Plus, I found out that they don't charge extra for soy milk - that way anyone with an allergy can enjoy their drinks without worrying about the cost. I'm lactose intolerant, so that is an enormous relief, and I'm pleased to be giving my custom to an establishment that welcomes people in that way.

Although it is small and sometimes hard to find a seat, the food and coffee are very good. The prices are not bad either, especially with student discount!

Soups, sandwiches, cakes don't miss any of them. And if you are in Edinburgh long enough go for seconds. All of it served with genuine warmth & homely care and don't miss the smile of hostess. A must if you are visiting

My new favourite cafe in Edinburgh. The place is small and cozy, can be occupied by around 16 people max. But I love the homey interior, with wooden table and chairs plus fresh flowers on each table. The foods are nice and affordable for student budget, moreover they even have 10% student discount :) Very convenient for me to grab some brunch since it's very close from my campus.

With the sky threatening rain, I took a stroll up the Bridges towards the southside. I alighted upon Edinburgh Coffee Cake and decided to give it a try. A simple cafe setting, it’s blessed with some beautiful cornicing, as so many Edinburgh properties are. The friendly counter people conveyed that the soup of the day was spicy tomato and aubergine, which sounded good to me. I added an accompanying falafel salad sandwich.
