Go, go, go! We had the most wonderful NYE dinner here. It was fresh, inspired with a twist, light and delicious. But the best: the employees were amazing. Friendly, professional. It felt like home - even Edinburgh is so far away. Happy 2020 and hope to see you soon.

Been here twice already. Given the quality and the creativity of the dishes the prices are very reasonable. Most importantly the food is fresh and seasonal! The staff are extremely friendly and I would highly recommend this place to all foodies out there.

Amazing food beautifully presented, every bite a delicious experience. Best short rib I've ever had, amazing gnocchi, asparagus dish (pictured) was a true winner. Service was top-notch: courteous, knowledgeable, with every dish explained. Best I've had in Edinburgh.

A warm welcome from Trisha and what a great place!
Lovely interiors and a tight, considered and well-executed menu designed to be shared (we were informed). We were 5 and to be honest we just ordered the entire menu because it all sounded so great - and we were not disappointed.
I wish I’d taken more pics because the food looks (and tastes) exquisite! From venison bresaola to pumpkin farfalle to mushroom and confit egg, it was all epic. Beef short rib and asiette of lamb filled us up and the new partridge dish was standout from chef Paul. A very reasonably priced velvety Bordeaux kept us all merry.
What a fantastic addition to the south side and somewhere we will be going back to for sure.

Great food and lovely staff. We had friends from out of town come and they felt very welcomed. Each dish was meticulously made and they were very aware of food allergies which was a big part with our group. Not somewhere I'd go all the time because it is a bit expensive for my tax bracket but it was a special occasion and Sonder is perfect for that.

One only has to look at the menu of this place to realise something special is in store.
We had the venison and wow presentation flavours and value. Atmosphere, friendly attentive service and love the high visibility of the artisan chefs at work.

Some dishes are easily Michelin quality in a relaxed atmosphere. Scallops (both) are a must as is the crab. You will need 2 plates at least for a main meal. Probably Each about £12.

The realisation that each passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own....
The tastes are mindblowing at times, and the compositions explore and combine the range of marin and carnivornal flavours.
A bit short and narrow winelist in reds with high tannins as key component, but the dessert wine (Rivesaltes ambre) gave a perfect touch to already high standard courses.

We made a last minute dinner reservation here during fringe festival and were absolutely delighted and surprised by the quality and originality of the food, especially since the prices were so good! Plenty of veggie options, local produce and beautifully presented! The staff was friendly as well as helpful in picking out drinks. The open kitchen adds to the experience. Definitely recommend!

Having read good reviews, on a weekend trip I decided to give it a go.
Boy, what an amazing discovery! Everything was excellent.
Please mind you; this is a restaurant aiming at surprising you with new combinations and ealaborate dishes, so don’t expect big portions. That said, we ended up paying less than in other restaurants and eating much better!
Don’t be fooled by the atmosphere of the neighbourhood, the quality is excellent and the service really good. All staff really young, so well done to them for trying hard to success in a competitive market!

Great service, amazing food and a great concept. They were great at catering for my allergy and made sure all substitutions worked well and looked fantastic.
All dishes we had were very tasty, especially their short rib. Good local beer selection as well with both Williams brothers and barney's on bottle!

I have eaten at this new restaurant twice now and I would highly recommend it. The first time I just wanted a quick lunch. Everything was quick and easy and the food was amazing. I went back last night with my wife and we were both really impressed. This was the best restaurant experience we have had in a very long time. They marry great food and attention to detail with a really friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Just a lovely experience. Can't wait for third visit!

We had high expectations going to Sonder, and they were met- kind of... The dishes surprised us and we especially liked the crispy cod and the sirloin. We ordered the apple espuma for dessert and it was a disappointment- a green-coloured whipped cream.
The atmosphere was good, being able to watch the chefs cook our food was an experience itself, although our clothes smelled of food when we left.
Somewhat confused waitress but mistakes with our order was fixed without a problem.
Restrooms could be more modern aswell.
Would recommend to friends travelling to Edinburgh.

Very delicious, unusual and beautiful plates. The absolute friendliest and most understanding waiter. Wonderfully accomodating to vegans (and, I would guess, almost any dietary requirement).
Just bear in mind the style of this dining experience - small portions of beautiful food for quite high prices. Savour the experience and if you're still hungry you can always scran later when you get home.
Maybe it all felt just a little bit pretentious...

Magnificent experience. Service and kitchen extraordinary. Had each a starter and two dishes, everything nicely arranged, open cooking included. Young team, very friendly. Prices absolutely ok for this quality. All thumbs up!

The food and service here is excellent. I can't recommend Sonder enough. The food is of a very high quality for incredibly reasonable prices. The front of house staff and the owner Trisha ,are very welcoming,efficient and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks.
I look forward to my next trip to Edinburgh, solely to eat at Sonder.
