This is my 3rd visit at Sapporo Teppanyaki in Glasgow and they never disappoint. Overall a lovely evening with good food and drinks. The ambience of the place is great and so is the experience. It is slightly on the expensive side but totally worth it for special celebrations. We were a group of 8 of which we had one vegetarian request which was very well managed. The staff is friendly and very attentive. I would definitely recommend this place for a unique dining experience.

Had a great experience. Food was delicious. Only criticism is it felt like you were eating separate portions of rice, noodle's, stir fry and meat choices...unless you have the patience to sit and wait until all served.

We keep coming back to celebrate special occasions and for a fun time with friends and family. It has an nviting, elegant, romantic atmosphere.

First time there. Got treated as a graduation present. Got the medium rare Lamb Teriyaki with garlic and sesame served with vegetables, egg fried rice and sauted potatoes. You're allocated a round table with a kitchen in the middle. The table fills and the chef saute the potatoes and throw them towards you, where you have to catch them in your mouth. Then they grill everything on the flat top and the food is served burning hot. Starters and desserts come from a separate kitchen. Great atmosphere for a night out. Prices are kind of high but worth the treat. My meal was £25 but they have a 3 course set menu for £30 I believe.

Only 4 for atmosphere as it wasn't busy when I visited, but I'm sure the atmosphere would be 5 star on a busy night.
Staff friendly, helpful and efficient.. can highly recommend.

Really enjoyed it. Was a little disappointed that even though I stated at booking it was for my son's 18th they didn't do anything. But other than that it was fab. Scallops were delicious 😋

Group went for a birthday lunch. Clearly this is what a number of people do on a Saturday. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was fantastic. Everyone was very polite, quick, friendly and the chefs were very entertaining.
Really enjoyed our dining experience and hope to be back again soon. Thank you.

We got a voucher from Itison for a day out with a friend and were pleased with the theatrical cookery and the value for money. There was a choice of starter and then fried potatoes, stir fried veg, & egg fried rice with a choice of main course. We had delicate chicken gyoza with dips followed by delicious teriyaki chicken & salmon (not a single bone). We couldn’t finish the portions and loved the atmosphere. The Grateful dead I e tea cocktails were amazing. Will return.

Went on a Sunday so was fairly quiet but with everyone getting wee fritters fired into their mouth there was plenty atmosphere. Food was good and didn't wait long for anything, and as your food is being cooked in front of you, you don't notice the wait at all.

Really good experience. Relaxed atmosphere and amazing food prepared at the front of you. Highly recommended

The five stars are for the food and our wonderful waitress.
We went at dinner time, and there were three waitresses, only one worked for the whole restaurant and the others did nothing!
The vegetarian menu was so good and tasty and the chef working in front of us was a master of the grill!
Expensive but worth it!

Fantastic place for dinner, the food was great and the chefs have great charisma putting on a great show while they cooked , would definitely recommend

17 of us booked for Sappporo on a Friday night for a work leaving do. What a great night was had. Dusan the Manager was so friendly and welcoming, we had such a lovely waiter, good chat and very witty, he ensured we got everything we needed. The Chef was just amazing and put on such a good show. On top of all that the food was delicious, simple but extremely tasty and something for everyone.

I would recommend this restaurant for a night out, the food and atmosphere is fab.

Went here with a large group. The dinner entertainment was excellent and the chef was fabulous. I had the salmon salad and the monkfish. Both were great but a little pricey.

We've had an absolutely great time here. The Chef was quite entertaining with a few fun tricks. I love the sushi and sashimi dishes. I also ordered Shogun set and that was quite a feast. Making another reservation for a dinner date soon!

I want you to have a think about something for a minute. Imagine you were at work, sat at your desk typing away, but you do this with a dozen folk intently watching you. Pretty off putting hey. Perhaps you work in a factory, skilfully crafting some high-tech component, how would you get on with an audience chatting away, some offering helpful tips as to how to do your job right.
Well the Tepanyaki chefs at Sapporo are constantly under these conditions. If working a restaurant kitchen wasn't hard enough, these guys don't get to hide away around the back. Nope they are front and

Best teppanyaki in Glasgow! I went on a monday which is a steak night, a really good deal for people who loves japanese style steak, if you like spicy, ask for a spicier sauce and i sweat that's why favorite spicy dip all time i have been in glasgow, spicy yet delicious

High End Heaven. Only 2 mins from High Street station, this upmarket Japanese restaurant is best known for the theatrical cooking and showmanship of its chefs. However, come along at lunchtime and you can have the same top class food (without the show) at a bargain price. I had the Chicken Tom-Yum and it was fresh and bursting with flavour. As you would expect, it is very tasteful inside and the service is superb (thanks Ross). I will definitely be back and recommend it highly.

Read a review dated 2 years ago, "I wouldn't be surprised if it is closed in 6 months!" Well, surprise! It is still open and going strong. My 2nd stint at Sapporo and it was a delicious, entertaining and thoroughly pleasurable meal. I took my partner, and she loved the food and entertainment! We both orsered fron the Early Diner Menu, only 14.95 for three courses and it was the perfect choice as it had plenty of dishes to order. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the meal. Absolutely worth going.

Visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening as part of an 'It Is On' deal. The restaurant itself was immaculate and the staff were well turned out and tidy. We were quickly seated and our chef Superman started his show/cooking near enough right away. I had the Chicken gyozza which were boiled (pleased about this as some places fry them) and fantastic. For main I had the king prawns, and my friend had the steak. We were both pleased and they never scrimped on portion size even though we got a cheap meal as part of a deal. Would probably not go here all the time but its nice as a one off.

Only been once very good but quite expensive for drinks but enjoyed all the same.

Just back from one of the best dinners I've had in a long time! The chef "big" made our night! I had the duck in raspberry and it was amazing! Will def be back soon for another visit!

Theatre cooking at its best!!. Ate here for the second time last night and can't fault the place. The food and service are some of the best I've had in Glasgow and some other venues should take a leaf out of their training manual for service and pleasant staff. Our chef was hilarious and entertained the kids, whilst still cooking and interacting with the whole table. Defo the place for my 40th later this year. Needs to be experienced at least once. The soft shell crab salad and sushi are outstanding and my ribeye steak was one of the best I've had. great value and just that little bit different!!!

Excellent japanese food. However, the experience was completely ruined by the 'holiday camp' style routine of our chef. By this I mean, Benny Hill style fake tomato ketchup bottles over your head, throwing potatoes at you so you have to perform like a seal and fake Ned Glasgow voice saying 'nay bather' everytime he handed over your tepenyaki. If you're a pissed lad out with your work mates it might go down well but for anyone else it's a cringy experience. It was made worse by the fact that the chef made no attempt to tone it down after the inital gag went down like a lead balloon. The manager said we were his first customers to complain and we should have know what to expect. Strange? No sign on the door saying 'Standup Tepenyaki'. I've eaten tepenyaki all over the world and this is the first time it came with a bad childrens party performer? I wouldn't be surprised if it's shut in 6 months.

Good, but expensive. I visited Sapporo on the 3rd October and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the chef we had was really funny and very impressive. The only complaint I had was that it was quite expensive for the food I got, but I imagine I was paying more for the entertainment than the food.

Yummy food and funny chefs. I'd never eaten Teppanyaki before visiting Sapporo Glasgow but I'll definitely be back for more. Only one word for the food - amazing! I had a starter, Teppanyaki main and a dessert (of course) and they were all scrummy. The main is cooked right in front of you by your party's own personal chef and it's all very theatrical. I thought I'd hate this aspect of it, but after a few glasses of wine it was fine. Our waiter was really friendly but the Maître d' was a bit slow in getting us from the bar to our table. If you like Japanese food then get yourself down to Sapporo.

It was absolutely delicious. Far too much scallop for me to eat, but absolutely brilliant. It reminds me a little of Khublai Khans because of how it’s cooked and the end product is similar. I’m definitely going back, but I might order something from the kitchen. I like the attention that kitchen-made food gets.

It would be obvious to say that I really enjoyed my meal at Sapporo, and I’m gutted that I didn’t try it sooner! Suffice to say that I’ll definitely be back (and hopefully soon!) and perhaps I might even give the teppanyaki a try. Sapporo has hands-down knocked Nanakusa off the top spot of my favourite sushi restaurants in Glasgow. I really do hope that it wasn’t just a one-off and that next time will be just as good.

Great concept... You will love the food as much as how it is served. Anyone with Japanese food fetish will find a good selection. My favourite is the combination dishes and anything but chicken. Some dishes could be spicy but only if you want them to be. Easy on the purse when you look for value.
