This is the best Thai food I’ve ever had. We found this place through Google and when we arrived and noticed it was in a hotel, we were skeptical… But walking into Nipa transported me to Thailand. The decorations and big windows overlooking the Park are just lovely. The service and waiting staff was impeccable. I wish I was able to remember our server’s name, because she was so amazing. All of the staff were so accommodating and kind, and even made food preparations special for my mother who is extremely averse to coriander — and they did it happily! And finally, THE FOOD. They started us out with a complementary fried mushroom with sweet chili sauce. Amazing way to start! We tried all of our normal go-to Thai dishes as a true test — some form of rice wrap, chicken satay, and green curry chicken — as well as their Koong Pao King Prawn special. This food was truly extraordinary. So delicious and flavorful, yet so simply executed. You can tell they take their cuisine very seriously. I have no hesitation saying that this is the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten. I cannot wait to come back for takeaway and dinner many, many, MANY more times! :)

We celebrated my birthday here and we really enjoyed our time. Great variety of options on the vegetarian set menu. We really enjoyed the black rice, and green curry. We had never tried Thai broth before and the silky tofu melted in my mouth! Highly recommended, great ambience in a high end hotel and great service too.

We enjoyed a delightful vegetarian set menu at this restaurant, which was easily veganised by swapping the dessert. The food, including the papaya salad, corn fritters, pad thai, and veg green curry, was delicious, with authentic spicing. The restaurant's location, overlooking Hyde Park, added to the experience. Looking forward to returning and hoping to see expanded vegan options, such as a vegan massaman curry.

We have visited more than once.
We had a lovely dinner and lunch, we loved everything.
The ambiance is rather sophisticated with very comfortable seats. The food is tasty and authentic! Staff very polite.

The food is amazing ! My second time there and already planning the third.
The service could be nicer. They seemed in a hurry to undress our table and the chairs are strangely very low.
But I still recommend !

Dined here as staying in hotel. Reception managed to book us in as it was very busy. The staff are lovely and friendly. We were given prawn crackers whilst deciding to what to have.
We chose satay kai ( chargrilled chicken) £14 , por pia tod (spring rolls) £13 and toong ngern yuang (prawn dumplings) £15
Main course we chose sweet and sour chicken with vegetables £22 and a side of rice £6 and kuey tiew phad see iew kai ( flat noodles with chicken mushrooms tomatoes chilli basil) £17 .
I drank water but husband and daughter had a glass bottle of coke which at £7 each I thought was expensive. The food is all presented beautifully though my husband thought the starters were expensive for what you got but very flavoursome. The main of noodles for me was too spicy to enjoy and the sweet snd sour was enjoyed but rice was not cooked well was stuck together and rubbery.

Went for Thai here Sunday night , Mayfair. To nicely round off a London Christmas weekend. Excellent food and service. The Living Legend Nile Rogers was in for supper , was happy to speak to us.

We told Nipa Thai we were celebrating my birthday. They found a table next to the window with views of Hyde Park. The food was lovely and at the end they surprised us by bringing out a cake and singing happy birthday! A great evening to remember for years to come.

My wife and I went on dinner and we absolutely loved Nipa Thai. The ambiance was lovely, the staff was super friendly and most importantly the food was delicious.
I feel that the dessert was the best part for me. 😁
Highly recommend if you like Thai food.
Nipa Thai is located inside Royal Lancaster Hotel. We literally felt like we were abroad hence the title.

We were there for dinner a couple of weeks ago and we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff was super friendly and most importantly, food was delicious.
I feel that they served the best curry I had in London so far 😁
Highly recommend if you like Thai food.

Where to eat Thai food outside thailand, it's here baby! Located in a 5 star hotel, the venue is next to the tube station and walking distance to paddintong station. As you enter the hotel to make your way to the restrueant, you feel immediately calm unlike if you are on the street Infront of the resturant and there are people around you that you need to dodge and avoid.
The resturant is is smaller than what I had imagined but i guess by having it smaller it feels more intimate, the staff are from Thailand ( I swear they probably know the menu inside out ) friendly and very happy to recommend any food.
You can smell food all around you and while you wait for you food, you keep looking everywhere to see what people are eating or have ordered. By the time the food is served, your starving!
The food is delicious and the flavour reminds me of asia.
Come and try, I am sure you'll never regret it!
Food is delicouse, the flavour does remind me of Asia, the smell just makes you hungry

Great service and atmosphere. The dumplings and the soup are my favourites. I’d recommend the set menu with the wine pairing. First time I’ve tried Thai wines (and not the last time!)

Elegant dining with spoonful of surprise. I enjoyed sitting by winter overlooking the Italian garden of Hyde Park. Starting with shrimp crackers, Thai fishcake(amazing, do recommend), satay chicken, spring rolls, good sour savory balanced soup, then following with three entrees. Wine pairing is a nice touch but I think they can further enhance the pairing. Great service. Paddington area has limited decent restaurant choice so this would be a go-to place in a rainy day

I'm not used to this kind of service :) the hotel is beautiful, marble everywhere, and when you step into the restaurant a beautiful scent welcomes you.
The staff looked after us better than our mother would, and the food was delicious. If you like Thai food, I highly recommend the place. The service is excellent and so is the food.

We visited the restaurant with our daughter who booked as treat for us. We had previously been here twice before last visit being 2018.
Just as good, delicious food , we had 3 courses plus drinks , good table nr the window and excellent service , its not cheap but worth the money and definitely recommend.

Food and service was simply amazing. We had the £66 set menu (which includes a glass of wine with each of the four courses) which was delicious. A tip - if you stay at the Royal Lancaster Hotel you get 20% off the bill. We will definitely be going back!

I’m not going to lie, it’s been a while now since I last had a good Thai meal in London. I had an astonishingly good one not so long ago in Dubai, but before that my last memorable experience was a little place in Barnes – and that was three years ago. But all that has changed as I’ve discovered Nipa Thai. A glamorous Thai restaurant inside the Royal Lancaster London Hotel.

A nice Thai restaurant in west London. Besides blue elephant I haven't found many other good ones. The Tom young goon is usually a great measure and this one was spicy and tasty in good measure. Fresh ingredients for all the dishes helps greatly with good service too

I love Thai food and along with Vietnamese food, the freshness of the ingredients takes the dishes to another level. . Nipa Thai is the place where Thai embassy staff go to eat so trusting their knowledge and tastes I booked this place for my fathers birthday. Located in the Lancaster Hotel in west London and a few drinks to celebrate down we went to eat.

Food for me is as much, if not more, influenced by ‘terroir’ as wine. The soil, the slope of the land, the altitude, the sunshine, the rain, the wind and even the lifestyle of the farmers will affect produce, each element adding something to the overall flavour of everything from tomato to onions. I was brought up in Fenland Norfolk, where the soil is rich and peaty. Our strawberries, celery and asparagus had a unique taste that I’ve never found elsewhere and didn’t consciously remember until last year someone sent me a box of Fenland celery. Thirty-five years later it brought back vivid memories of my childhood, of the flat landscape where roads and canals run above the levels of the fields, creating a patchwork crayoned drawing of countryside through the eyes of a five year old. Nipa Thai is, I believe, unique in that the ingredients used in their kitchen are flown in daily from Thailand.

Nipa is on the first floor of the Lancaster Hotel. An ornamented doorway leads into a smartly decorated dining room, with wood panelling and carpet. Head chef Nongyao Thoopchoi supposedly specialises in dishes from Thailand’s central region, though that was not really obvious from the menu, which featured normal Thai fare. According to the web site she flies in the spices and herbs directly from Thailand, which all sets up an expectation of something out of the ordinary.

Nipa is the best place to have Thai in London. I must have visited this place atleast 20 times and yet I haven't found one instance when the food has been bad or the service not upto the mark. The place is centrally located on the first level of Lancaster London Hotel.

Some of their best things to try are Chicken Satay, Tom Kha Kai, Phad Kra Prao. You just cant miss Tom Kha if you plan to go there. Its a lovely feel to have a hot and delicious Tom Kha in this cold weather!

However, having said all the good things, this place has got its management changed recently and the prices have been hiked considerably! The portions seem to have evaporated by 10% and the staff seems a bit cautioned to offer more to the customers. For me that takes away the half point from getting a complete five!
