Tasty comfort food, lovely setting and pleasant staff. Certainly the best the area has to offer. Incredible value too!

Love this place nice and quiet on a Sunday
Had the Gypsy Lamb - Not quite as I remember it but still nice
Crumble was yummy.
Great service, lovely staff - and you really can't beat 3 courses for £18.... I'll be back

Attended for a birthday party and I was impressed. The tables were appropriately laid out for the guests and the food was great! I real enjoyed the testing menus they put together: there was a two-course option and a three-course option and they were very reasonably priced (12 and 15,95£ respectively) A great selection of red wines too - the house was a favourite Côte du Rhône appellation.

A very friendly place, cosy interior and welcoming staff. The food is delicious and of excellent value.

Cosy little place with friendly service. Can see that being one of my locals if I live in Clapham. Food is decent and reasonably priced

Great hidden gem behind Clapham Junction on the 'other side of the tracks' but don't be afraid ;)
Great date night place.. cosy.. romantic. Not expensive yet great food like your momma made.

One of my favourite places to eat in Clapham Junction especially for the price of the meals. You can get a special of £9 for 2 courses from the specials board. I also find that the wine is also reasonably priced for the area. Service is good to but l suggested booking directly during peak times.

You must visit this phenomenal restaurant. It's simply outstanding!
The menu has a great selection of meals and the wine list is also surprisingly balanced in the selection.
I'm sure on ever visit to have a stunning meal and fantastic service, which makes it easy to recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in dinning out and lovers of food. I'm always meeting people here to share a meal and the experience is memorable to everyone. Thank you for your service Fish in a Tie.

Great place ! Amazing food.
Would love to come back for dinner again!

Good service and friendly staff, specials menu quite varied and good food. I loved the steak which comes with lots of veg and potatoes instead of the normal fried crap other restaurants give you

Disappointment. I lunch with a friend regularly at Fish in a Tie. Up to now it has been splendid.
Sadly yesterday the house red which I always have was horrible. The waiter showed us the bottle but did nothing else.
Food good as usual

NEVER AGAIN. Such a shame. Very disappointed with the Fish in a Tie.I live in Clapham Junction.Ive been to this restaurant many times in the last 4 years. The food is fantastic, the staff exemplary. I was unfortunate enough to take my parents here+I've never been made to feel so unwelcome. The owner of the restaurant was loitering on the floor. He was rude+intimidating. He glared at us,he made it clear we had outstayed our welcome. He told us to f**k off poorly disguised as a cough.I have never been so insulted.I am embarrassed for your staff

Been there heaps of time ... And never been disappointed ... Great to take friends tonight and know that everything will be great As they have been travelling for the last few months - great to hear them rank the meal very highly! Well done to the friendly staff and the great work being done in the kitchen :)

Fantastic value, fantastic food, fantastic service. I live across the road from this little gem of a restaurant (in fact as I write this review in my kitchen, I can see it from the window!) and heard about it from a colleague who had previously lived in the same building. She had told me that she often returned to the area for this specific restaurant, so I thought it was worth a try.

I only wish I had tried it earlier!

I went there last night with my partner. Two courses for £10 is unbelievable value. I had the crab to start and the pork escalopes for main, my partner had the duck salad to start and the Mediterranean chicken for main. For such value, I have to be honest, we weren't expecting much. But the food was fabulous. Perfectly cooked, and was served very quickly!

We got the feeling this was a family run restaurant, which is really nice. The service was fantastic. Sadly, we we're paying by card and they didn't have the option to add a tip on their chip and pin machines....and we had no change whatsoever on us as we literally popped out from home. We did feel awful for this, as we thought they deserved a massive tip for the great service we received. We'll be making sure to leave a big tip on our next visit (probably next week!). Hopefully they'll soon allow tips by card as we did feel rather sheepish as we left, especially as they would have deserved every penny and more.

Whats more, the atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely. A really intimate environment - quite cosy with exposed brick work and great lighting - Tiffany style lamps and low lit ceiling lighting. A really romantic atmosphere - great place to take a date sometime if that's what you're after!

All in all, this is a gem of a restaurant in London - exceeded our expectations and we will definitely start eating there on a very regular basis. If you're from Clapham, it is worth the trip to Battersea for this restaurant. Try the burlesque bar across the road too, The Peacock, and make a really good night of it.

Could go every week. Lovely atmosphere for couple or group, quirky decor n great food - bread, meat, fish. Have probably been through most of menu, quite a few specials n loved every meal I have had there. Have introduced many friend to fish in the tie n always had a great night n good feedback.

Good food, mediocre service.. I cancelled a table at the Bluebird in Chelsea as we'd heard the service was awful, so we decided to try a local restaurant, and had heard great things about Fish In A Tie. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to its reputation. We were largely overlooked by the waiters, who were more interested in chatting to young women and texting on their mobile phones. I had to get up and go to the bar before anyone took our dinner order, gaps between courses were too long, and we weren't asked if we wanted more drinks, even when ordering dessert. The restaurant was only half full, so this poor service was utterly unjustifiable. We are unlikely to eat there again.

Simply the best took my wife there for our first meal when we started going out six years on we still love and the prices have hardly changed need I say more.
Nikki
Been here loads of times, great food at a great price need I say more! The staff treat us like family.
Mise En Place
Expensive meals out are no longer the realm of posh rooms, French classics and suits and ties. In 2010 you can eat scientifically styled dishes for over £100 in Shoreditch wearing trainers if you like. Eating out is trendy in London but not all of us can

A good find. The sort of place that's not showy from the outside and you might walk past if you weren't in the know, but a good atmosphere once inside. Extensive menu and often many specials too. I like that you can get something a bit different like ostrich but lots of classics too especially on the puds. Profiteroles are my choice. The prices are very good value; half or a third of the what you'd pay for the same description in many other restaurants. The quality isn't obviously Michelin star but perfectly satisfying. I've been a recurrent visitor over the years and little has changed which is good, although the cocktails are perhaps a little dated.
